Great vid man. I have watched nearly everyone on KZbin doing blender tutorials and your approach is gold vs any of them. Your clear, concise and very easy to understand. No unneeded filler talk, no assuming we already know what you're doing here and there and no taking forever to explain. Great work, please keep it up. I know life can bring us down further than we can imagine, but it's things like this that brings sunshine to people when needed most! Thanks again and hope all is well and that you keep pushing your channel!

Thanks for this!! I used this tutorial to model the mouth for a WIP character I had previously abandoned which was for a school project. I may have been a bit ambitious as the character has oni teeth, but its going alright so far!

Thank you! I had to join the disconnected meshes with Booleans and patch some verts for rigging and animation but I got a set going from your video! Thank you!

rather than adding loop cuts to keep the shape, you can just add crease and mean bevel strength to the loops you want to keep shape, that way you dont have unnessesary geometry near the bottom

Depends on how you want to sculpt. you can use Dynamic Topology or you can do Voxel sculpting. I've got a video on Dynamic sculpting in my sculpting playlist

Thanks for the tuto! I have one question : If you model the interior of the mouth AND the part between the gums on top and below the tongue, won't there be some weird interaction when the character open the mouth ? if the top between the gums isn't connected to the interior ?

Hello you could make a video where you show how to insert the teeth into the facebuilder's head mesh by making the movements of the teeth move in tune with the mouth please.....

Hi hi! i have a question... so I'm making a highly realistic character for a project and am following your tutorial. However, I started actually sculpting the teeth (at .1 voxel size) bc I need something realistic. How do I make this teeth sculpt low poly? Do I have to retopo and then combine that retopology with my current character's head? I'm at a loss here because this is my first character creation project that I plan on animating and posing.

Yeah, for one you're probably going too detailed unless you're trying to get realistic teeth. But either way you'll need to do retopo and bake texture maps from your sculpt

Really nice thorough tutorial dude. One question though, is it normal to wait until you have retopo'd mesh to do the inside of the mouth? I.e. I have a (what I thought was completed) high poly sculpt, and I'm not sure if I need to first sculpt the inner mouth, or if that is only done after retopo with poly model approach like this.

I generally wait until retoping to do the mouth. It's a generally low detail part of the body and as such doesn't need the details provided by sculpting and generating normals
