Lovely set up once again gents - Johhny B seems to own the special edition "cow's arse banjo" dice pack - so many misses / failed saves in such a short amount of time... Great result regardless!

I know zero about the rules, but I enjoyed watching this while painting. Your enthusiasm is contagious...I was drooling over the Soviet Hind helicopters once I started checking out the website. Love the table. Bit surprised how it turned out though. lol

@@ModellingforAdvantage I have the British starter force as well as a Harrier close support flight as I love a good Harrier, or two! Will add polish decals to mine to simulate a "what if" Polish/British joint freedom force. Being from Poland I wanted to do something like that.

Weird little Battefront rule. Units start gone to ground, so where a unit is in cover, your units get an additional +1 for gone to ground. And in the world of odd rules. Aircraft and helis are in good spirits at one active unit.
@ModellingforAdvantage3 жыл бұрын
I knew the first part, starting gone to ground, if we overlooked it in the game that was an oversight. But aircraftm icle helos always being ingood spirits, I did not know. Thank you

I believe unless you are dedicated AA or marked "helicopter" (like the BMPs) you have to reroll FP tests against helicopters. But great batrep with solid camera work that is not too shakey, nicely painted troops and good board. (I also like the sound effects.) I don't think helicopters need to make last stand checks. I don't think you need a cross check for hedges unless they are bocage. And hide those BMPs if they are part of your core. Sent in the expendable support troops. (I make that mistake all the time too.)
@ModellingforAdvantage3 жыл бұрын
I really wish there was a section called 'helicopters' where they consolidated all the rules relating to them - they are all over the place. I am sure you are right, definitely about the last stand cos we checked that again. Didn;t know the firepower thing. Thanks for the tips. As to filming, we are big believers in seeing the whole board. We tend to run two main cameras to get the action and shaky cam just for a few close ups in deployment and such.

@@ModellingforAdvantage Yep, p.69. Infantry and non dedicated AA must re-roll successful firepower tests against helos. They changed it in v2 because too much air was getting shot down by .50 cal armed tank hordes. Great video and I really like the models but the number count compared to Flames of War (often 2 - 3 times the numbers of vehicles, and they are twice the size to boot!) really jams up a 6x4 table. For me it's a period better suited to 10 or even 6mm models, or 12x8 tables!

Enjoyed this, even though I don't play and don't know the rules. Anybody - could you mini-explain what happened at the end? Thanks.
@ModellingforAdvantage3 жыл бұрын
Soviet force morale collapsed. The army list building you choose a core force type then make selections from within and without that core. Your morale breaks when you are down to one unit from your core. THe Soviet army was mad up of a mix of models so it was a bit fragile in the morale department. The British one was built and painted from the ground up for this game, so is a LOT more coherent. Does that make sense?
@Skylifter10002 жыл бұрын
Your commander had a 3+ roll to switch to one of the other unit's T-64s, did you roll that?
@ModellingforAdvantage2 жыл бұрын
You do? I am not aware of that.
@Skylifter10002 жыл бұрын
@@ModellingforAdvantage It's on page 49 of the rulebook (in the mini rulebook version), chapter is shooting, paragraph is titled 'Killing commanders.' If there is an operational vehicle left in the HQ unit (of the same type the command vehicle was) he does not even need to roll, he just switches (or the 2iC takes over). If there is no such vehicle, he can commandeer another vehicle of the same type that is within 6" by rolling 3+.
