What a joy to discover the Aussie music of the Eighties. Hearing the bands that never penetrated the American market ~ the Stems, the Models, the Chantoozies (yes, the Chantoozies) ~ is a revelation for an American who came of age in that glorious decade. It's like seeing Aussie Rules Football for the first time, as I did at 21, and realizing ('the shock of recognition') that Aussie Rules is just about the greatest game ever invented, a damn sight better than American football.... And yes: 'Hold On' should have been a hit on the Billboard Hot 100. An amazing song

Wow Dean, that’s amazing to hear. Aussie Rules is an awesome game! My favourite ’American’ sport is ice hockey! There’s no doubt that this decade was incredible time for Aussie music. There are so many great bands from Downunder to discover, I’m happy to recommend a few!
