We were so spoiled here in Oz in the 80's...we took it for granted, and many never broke into international markets as their managers ooften never thought they would be successful overseas. Their loss...we rocked at discos every weekend to all this.

The 80’s was a more creative time for music. People were more creative then. There was no internet and computers were just basic. You couldn’t get addicted to chats/ forums/ social media/ games. I dunno how many kids these days could make this if they tried!? Kids more exposed to hip hop / whimpy hipster pop. Record industry has changed for the worst! Social engineering towards multi- cult / multi- gendered community

Great song, great album!!! Had the cassette tape of this album back in the day. Played it so much I wore it out and had to buy another. Great Aussie band from the '80's! This album and anything INXS were my go to driving music back then. Graduated High School in '84... Was "legal" (21yrs old in the States) in '87 and the club scene was crazy back then as was any college bar with a dance floor. Love the backup singers in this video and "Cold Fever"... Miss the days of fit looking ladies, in form fitting skirts, black hose and heels. Man I wish I could go back... To be young in the '80's was a great time!

The Australasian invasion 🤠. Some bands like Men at Work would go Billboard #1 or at least top 10, while others like Models, Real Life, The Church, Wa Wa Nee would slip into the top 30 or top 40, but with a song that was a little different from standard pop radio in the US. One Aussie song that I was surprised to see even make Billboard top 100 was "Solid Rock" by Goanna, 1982, made #71. Surprised because it had a kind of Australian outback feel to it and Shane Howard had a kind of Aussie stadium rock voice, I wasn't sure that the US would take much interest in the song, but I think there was something about the big, anthemic sound, especially the chorus, which got it over in the States.

The woman in this video dancing and singing wearing a hat and a leather jacket reminds me of the famous gymnast, Alicia Sacramone !! I'm referring to the backup singer on the left, because there are two backup singers in this video. They're both gorgeous, but I like the one on the left. Because Alicia is gorgeous and so is the woman I just got through talking about. Also, this band plays good music and I have seen some of their other videos that they have done. They're an awesome band. Sorry that James Freud has passed on and is no longer with us. But listening to good music like this and watching good music videos like this really makes me want to go back to the eighties. Remember, this video was done back in 1985. But good music lasts forever, no matter how long ago it was. Same thing applies to this band and this video. The Models rule forever !! What a butt kicking band !! Living proof that bands like The Models will never die and Rock and Roll will never die !! 🎤🎤🎤🎤🎤🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

This is my first introduction to Models. The singer sounds a bit like Michael from INXS, but that's not a bad thing. This sound has a cool groove. I love the little Australian rock movement that happened in the mid-80s...all those bands have such a unique sound. The Angels and "Underground" comes to mind, along with Jimmy Barnes.

The song title popped into my mind out of nowhere--this was one I used to cover back in the day and it was aways a blast to do! Uh huh-it's as good as I remember it! And that cameo he did with INXS "Good Time" kicked ass! Some great Aussie bands, that 80's period WAS something. Men at Work as well. RIP James

I’m so very sorry to hear about your friend, James’ sister. I saw the band once in Philly. I found James on MySpace in ‘08 I think and we had a nicest. Recommended that I follow his son’s band which I did. I asked him if he saw the gifts I gave a roadie to give the band. I asked Sean years earlier and he hadn’t. James received the battery operated bartender hand which they had fun with but not the beautiful illustration my sister drew of the band. I then told him that I found out the drawing didn’t leave the venue and became part of the venue’s archive. I found it hanging backstage to be seen anytime someone goes to and from the stage ❤️ I wish I still had our messages. May they both Rest In Peace. Deepest condolences to the family.🙏🏼🙏🏼

Australia still has good music and good bands, the music that is made in Europe is shit, far from the music that was made in the 70s, 80s and 90s of the last century, or is it electronic music "something that can hardly be called music " or is it something between Rammstein or Muse , a shit sound , the last band that appeared around these parts are the Arctic Monkeys , and it's been a few years now it's just been shit impossible to hear :)

Saw the Hoodoo Gurus in my hometown Upper Hutt, New Zealand early this year at the Hutt Sounds supergig, Brewtown, semi-outdoors, five bands split 3.5-1.5 Kiwi-Aussie (the half and half band was Mi-Sex led by Steve Balbi what with most of the original guys dead or moved on). Was hoping to see more Aussies at next year's Hutt Sounds, but they've kinda set their sights on the UK, getting Human League, Nik Kershaw and Go West. Choirboys are joining them and the Mockers. I mentioned the gig to Dave Sterry of Real Life over FB who said it's been ages since he played in NZ and he'd like to come back. Would love to see bands like Models, Icehouse, Big Pig, Midnight Oil and others play at a future Hutt Sounds supergig. 👍
