One of the greatest Aussie tracks. Such a better era to live in. How do we allow them to change the world this much?

My dad said that about 80s music when we were in the 80s. And I'm sure your kids will be saying it about the 2020s. It's the way the world goes. Enjoy the past, embrace the present. There's so much good new music. It's everywhere.

wow, you dont know the models. try their early stuff maybe. then again if you like this tripe with Freud singing, you'll hate the early angst driven genius of Sean Kelly !

BEST Models song? Seriously? It’s easy listening commercial pap (or crap if you prefer). Do yourself a favour and go listen to their first 2 LPs and especially the Cut Lunch EP if it’s still available.

Damn really? I only watched this today because I remember him playing at Western Springs NZ about 30 years ago... and I thought he was good, and was talking to someone about it... and went looking on YT etc. He had utterly fucking stellar charisma. The one time I saw him. He was supporting David Bowie - who (to be fair) was also quite good.

That's sad to think he's dead. I was in the 8th grade that year. Seems sad for it to be so long ago, yet in my mind it is not.

Live version at "Australian Made - 1987" really tore the roof off (which is what they're miming to on this CountDown clip) How totally gorgeous are the backing vocalists? Stunning and totally Professsional performance. Check it live... kzbin.info/www/bejne/r5a9lZmrpLCHnac Without doubt ... an trully memorable performance of a great song, hey?

@andysmith62184 жыл бұрын
It’s not live, but it’s: James - bass and vocals, Sean - Sax, Barton - drums, Roger- Guitar and Andrew - keys.😊
@aus80srockradio948 жыл бұрын
The big sounding keyboard & bass at the beginning sends shivers down your spine. It is a work of art. However, the line up miming here is hardly the Models as such. NO SEAN KELLY for starters, No Wendy Matthews, No James Valentine - just some dude disguising his identity with a cap and sunglasses pretending to be Sean .
@noodsnewell84298 жыл бұрын
Looks like Roger Mason on guitar and Andrew Duffield on keyboard.
@KJezza8 жыл бұрын
I noticed that, so weird as I thought Duffield had left with Mason replacing him on the keys
@NickySmartFLA7 жыл бұрын
Is that maybe Sean pretending to be James? I'm very confused.
@rodhuy017 жыл бұрын
yes its Def Andrew Duffield on keys. he left in early 80's for a littlw wihle, then came back, then left again late 80's i think. but no Sean. and its a shit song. all songs by James Freud were imposter Model songs. tragic. EARLY MODELS WAS UNBEATABLE !
@rodhuy017 жыл бұрын
@KJezza - yes mason did replace duffield. but at one stage Duffield left mid 80's for 2 yrs and came back and then left again towards the end. and i think mason replaced him both times !
@nicholaskovacs2074 жыл бұрын
Aahh yes my freindys one of their last releases before they initially split...the friction had started to sink in and this is why the line up was a bit different 🤔🤔 thankfully james n Sean eventually resolved their differences n made up😍😍😍

Notice how the drummer is playing an open hihat while the recording clearly shows the hihat is closed. Bollocks. Poor James looks embarrassed as fuck.

I reckon in retrospect Sean should've sung this one. The melody would've cut through better.
