I still struggle like fuck with my own mustache. Obviously you try to minimise the strokes, but I only shave after a shower and I'll shave twice, foam and all. Not sure if it's right, but it's what works for me.

I keep coming back to this video every few months or so because of how hilarious of a trainwreck it is. I'm sure its very relaxing having your barber constantly mention blood spots and "people are gonna say oh shit he's butchered his face but it ain't the case mate" and then using a fucking electric shaver over his face when you're "done". It's a 'thing' I guess...a harmless fetish. I had a girlfriend once who enjoyed giving me a shave. Maybe it was the whole blade to my throat thing she really dug? Either way, she wasn't really all that good at it - I looked like a shark attack victim every time I buckled and let her do it.

If you are shaving and get “blood spots” you are doing something wrong. If after you finish shaving with a straight razor you have to go over the beard with an electric foil razor you have done something wrong. This is about as bad as the time beardbrand posted the video of the Irish girl shaving a customer and tore his face all to pieces, it was so bad they turned off comments.

I get you, but while shaving myself I sometimes find I can't get into certain spots with my straight or safety, so I use a foil electric as a final go-over. I don't reckon that should be considered a failure in-and-of-itself, just a sign that things could be improved, which is definitely a different thing. You didn't ****-up, you just could've done better. I can't even reach the top of my lip with my best safety razor (under my nose), but otherwise it's a brilliant piece, I wouldn't tell anyone not to buy it just because it can't reach that fuzz there and I have to break out my shavette for it.

That is fine, and will keep it tidy throughout, but it will take you much longer to grow to your desired length over just letting it grow. You'll also find as the beard gets longer you may not want everything the same length (tapered sides)

Surely you are going to create more problems by clean shaving and running foils over his face. Then to go back over the face with a ‘dirty razor’ and without lubricant will also create problems. Poor health and safety and swearing while over a customer, bring back the professionals!!!!

Is that a proper straight razor or a shavette ? It's rare Barbers use straight razors these days, not only because of hygiene controls but also because it's just a pain in the arse in upkeep with honing and stropping LOL. I'm a DE wet shaver myself...it's a big hobby these days as is traditional straight razor wet shaving.

I believe that this is a shavette. Typically, most barbershops won't use traditional straight razors for sanitary reasons. We've heard barbers here in America say that they're legally not allowed to use straight razors at their shops. - Jack
