Loved this video, as always. Living and working alongside people that have a passion for improving their lives is truly inspiring - and the physical infrastructure is just one way in which this has been mirrored. A lot of people haven’t had it easy, but most have kept their long-term goals and aspirations in mind. I used to think short-term, or week-by-week, but slowly I’ve changed into thinking long-term... as far as years and years in advance. I think this is something very valuable that I learnt from living and working in China.

Hey Nico, I'm from Malaysia, but I love traveling in China. I've been to Shanghai, Suzhou, Hangzhou, Beijing, Datong, Chengdu, etc. So far, I love Chengdu and the scenic areas in the Sichuan Province. So I suggest you visit Sichuan next. :)

Nico's videos have never disappointed me. It seems Nico hasn’t been to Guangzhou yet. It’s near to Shenzhen, from which only takes half an hour by HSR, however it’ll give you completely different vibe and feeling. Highly recommended.

One mistake, the OG special economic zone opened in 70's were Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Shantou and Xiamen. Shanghai was the new free trade zone opened in 2019

As you're currently based in Beijing, I think you can try either Northeast provinces or Shandong by high-speed train. If you do not mind travelling further down to South, Fujian province (from Fuzhou to Xiamen or vice versa) can be another good option. Hope it helps, and thanks for your video, Nico.

The picture of Shanghai in 1:47, If it was taken in the 1950s, from this angle you should see a building called Broadway Mansions at the end of the road. The building was completed in 1934. But it doesn't exist in this picture. And the cars on the road are basically the styles of the 1920s and 1930s. So I think this photo should have been taken between the late 20s to early 30s.

believe me，not Chongqing, Chongqing is good, but the best is its twins city,Chengdu, 2 hours bullet train from Chongqing. In fact, Chongqing was belong to Sichuan province until 1997, its the second important city of Sichuan, and Chengdu was, is the first. So U can see the difference, who own the best. Chengdu was named as the world capital city of foods by UN. Hm, Chongqing own better lights at night, it's worse to visit, too.

Can't believe you've to so many cities but Chengdu, Chengdu is cozy the lifestyle there is pretty nice. ps: not only Chengdu but many places around it are good bets to go, Leshan Buddha, Mount Qingcheng, Jiuzhaigou, Tibetan region, generally the Sichuan province is a good place to go.
