Erik nailed it when he said an AMERICAN sportbike which is radically different than a Japanese or Italian sportbike. They may appear to be the same but there's no comparison in performance. Erik Buell is probably THE most underrated motorcycle designer in history. There is NO non-production motorcycle on earth w/ the degree of loyalty that BUELL has. They could tell his 'kid's toys' were gonna eventually eclipse they're AARP flagships and had to neutralize that threat. The irrefutable evidence is HD turned down (2+) legit offers to buy BUELL. If HD's reason to divest itself of BUELL because they weren't selling then why not sell it for a profit? We all know it was because BUELL, at the rate it was improving, was going to outsell & replace HD as the eminent American vtwin and they couldn't have that. BUELL motorcycles technologically improved more in 10yrs than HD had in the past 30yrs. I predict w/in a decade HD will either totally be bought out or at the least be part of foreign company.

I bought a Buell Ulysses and loved it. It needed refining but had huge potential. Harley screwed the pooch with Buell

Harley engages in poor business tactics and it is really catching up with them now. Hopefully they will be able to bring it back, but it may be a case of too little, too late.

Jochen Zeitz has a good opportunity to turn the company around. Let's give him a chance and see what he can do.
