Your product works good on fine scratches. I’ve been going through and picking cards to send to PSA and I’m finding white specks on some Bowman and Topps chrome cards that just do not come out. Any ideas? Thanks for sharing your videos, I’ve learned a lot.

Hi Tim, We have the same report. Most of those real scratches are permanent. I get excited when they are light and superficial, they usually reduce or remove. 80% of the time lines/scratches don't move.

Finally got a cleaning kit and think this video aligns best with some rehab I’m trying to do. Modern card with print lines/surface scratches. Trying a few rounds of polish. Best type of rag to use for wipe down of polish?

@@jasonscott3070 yes, it took me a little bit because I could tell this was not a scratch but some sort of residue. It removed a little bit at a time. But if you have a scratch that you can feel it’s just poor production and that won’t go away. But try every time.

Great question, I spent about a half hour on the card so quite a few. The line kept getting smaller, so I just kept doing the same process. It must’ve been some sort of hardened residue. Because now the card doesn’t have a valley or a scratch. It was something that was able to be removed fortunately.

Hi Kurt, I have another question. I just got back my 82 fleer Ripken rookie card from PSA and it got a 5. I’ve had this card in my collection sleeved and top loaded for over 20 years in a sports card box. This card is very well centered and I’ve looked at the corners and they are very very good. The only thing I can see is that the card may be yellowed a bit front and back from other 82 cards. Is there a way to lighten the yellowing? I know they do it to comics that have yellowed with blacklight technology with a simple blacklight box.

I think you’re right, I think that the grade will go down if the card has changed color a bit. Because if the cards in great shape that’s the only other thing that could be a factor. I’m not well-versed on comic book restoration. I typically soak cards in my card spray solution to reduce dirt and wrinkles, but I don’t know if it would take the yellow away. The yellow might be from ultraviolet degradation, which is too much sunlight exposure. Sorry, I just don’t have enough experience with using ultraviolet to reduce yellowing.

I tried that first, because it looked like some sort of glue. Which it turned out to be. Because after cleaning on the area with a combination of spray and polish, it wiped away, but it did take a while.

What do you recommend for dimples? Any way of filling them in or getting rid of them somehow?

You keep busy for sure. I don’t do the cards for customers. I make these examples to show what can be done. I also make the card care products. This one was pretty cool because lines like that are typically permanent but as you can see sometimes they do go away.

Can you put newer cards in a humidifier?

Yes, I do that when they have a little indent on the back that I try to get to lift up. Or if you need to work on a corner or an edge, the humidor will help these cards get a little bit softer.

Hey! How well does this work on deeper scratches? I’ve found a 2 scratches on a card of mine. How many times should I apply?

This was some sort of substance that I was able slowly remove. Unfortunately, scratches into the plastic I can never get out. But I try card polish on everything like this, but if you can tell that it’s cut into the card it won’t change.

Hi Jack, It's likely not your technique. lines like this are typically permanent. That's why I lack demos like this. It's not really a pressure thing it is more dependent on the damage from the production. Sometimes these lines are light and can be removed. I spent 20 minutes on this one going on and off because I noticed the line was reducing. I just do multiple applications and if it's getting better I keep going. If not Ill just clan the card and move on.

The process I was doing removed it. The back looks good now. It just took about a 30 minutes so I didn’t make a 30 minute video. But the process I did will work if you have that weird spot on the back. It looked like dried spots of some sort of liquid.

have a bowman /5 with a line like that, do we need to let the spray soak at all? or just spray to clean and then start polishing?

Good question. I tried the spray to see if I could remove it but it didn't do anything. I just kept at it for about 20 minutes with the poish. I noticed it was starting to get smaller and then confirmed that it wasn't a scratch but some weird stuff on the surface. I honestly didn't even really expect much.

Hi Kurt, for the scratch, do you let the polish sit there, or do you wipe it away right after application?

You can let it sit to get to a little light haze and then wipe it off. That’s typically the process I do. I almost gave up on this one but I noticed that it got a little better so I kept going. It took me about 20 minutes.

Why? Even before this in the late 90s and since people have prepped cards for grading? You’re thinking of altering. Looking at his vids and comments… it’s not. Altered cards are coming back from PSA as such because they’re not using this they are using car wax , compound & polish

Chrome is subjective to scratch so you would be rather scratch card or half way better than before
