After posting equal positive and negative videos about all three modern consoles, I've come to the conclusion that the culture around modern game consoles SUCKS! So let't talk about why!

I miss when you actually owned your games, and when your console did more than just play games and stream movies. The PS3 and PSP are the greatest consoles ever made for these reasons in my opinion

I had a NES, a SNES and a N64 back then. When I was told to either keep N64 or get PS2 in exchange, I chose PS2 while I gave N64 to my distant relatives. I still receive Nintendo consoles from Gamecube up to Wii. I did not get the Wii U nor Switch. For Sony, I got PS2 and PS3. When I had to choose between PS4 or X Box One, I chose X Box One. It is the only console I have from Microsoft. I think the reason why I chose different console brands is to try them out and see what I like and dislike about them. I think one of major things about choosing a console brand is based on which video game franchise you like. After thinking it over, I see myself as Nintendo first, PlayStation second, and X Box third due to the video game franchises I like. (I am currently planning to buy a Switch.)

I used to dislike consoles/exclusives as a kid since I had to choose one and coordinate with friends to get the others. As an adult i like them because I can buy all of them. What i dont like in gaming is the push for more multiplayer games with worse single player. I have never played multiplayer on games but understand the market for it. The sacrifice of good single player to load up dev time on more multiplayer is killing my interest in gaming more then anything.

1:24 yeah thats basically how i rememeber it. and i grew up playin a sega Genesis so i was like, "oh to play this i need this? got it" also helped that i went to blockbuster a lot as a child so id see tons of games that caught my eye. on platforms i didnt have

I haven't seen a point in buying a console aside from Nintendo since the One/PS4 came out. *Most* games end up released on PC at least eventually and many games are cross platform nowadays anyways so I don't need to worry about coordinating who has what consoles with others. The only reason I purchase Nintendo consoles is because the Wii U and Switch allowed me to play in bed and the Nintendo IPs never come to PC. I do get PC's are expensive, but in the long run ends up cheaper than constantly rebuying new consoles. Plus you don't have to pay to use your internet that you're already paying for. Not trying to sound PC master race-like here. For some people consoles are the better choice and if I had to pick between PS or Xbox at this point I'd end up with a PS if for no other reason than their game catalog.

It costs at least $2,000 for a PC that can match a $400 PS5. PS has most of their games exclusive with Nintendo having them all exclusive. Xbox has all their exclusive games on PC but those games are not worth the time/money for most gamers, plus Xbox has been planning to leave the console market so it makes sense. PC has many issues, tons of tweaking when it comes launching any game, always forced to pay overpriced PC parts. Games are always optimized poorly for PC and internal systems such as the IO and OS always holding every PC back. You’ll quickly get tired of always managing and changing your settings whenever you want to do the smallest things of your PC. Plus you’ll have to play on a keyboard which is a literally nightmare if you don’t want to play competitive games all the time, at least you can buy a $70 controller. Always upgrading your PC or upgrading your PC whenever the next gen consoles come around is actually more expensive than upgrading your last gen console to your next gen console. The only good part of having a PC is not paying to go online.

If you're having these problems you bought a crappy PC and I'm sorry you spent $2000 on a scam. I've got $1400 PC that I've upgraded once (it was a 100% optional motherboard upgrade to add an extra SSD because I bought a prebuilt that didn't have that slot for an add on instead of if I had just done a BYO from the start. This did not need to happen, I simply had the freedom to adjust how I pleased), is insanely easy to upgrade (once you see it done once you realize it's not that scary, hard, or time consuming), have had for years, is still running games great and multi-purposes as a video editing machine. Seriously, It sounds like you've had a very bad experience with a PC or haven't PC gamed because "tons of tweaking when it comes to launching any game"? I press launch and game go zoom. "Forced to pay overpriced PC parts": I repeat, my only upgrade was unrequired and a personal choice to get a motherboard with room for an extra SSD just because I could. Cost me a total of $150~ (That's CAD btw, all other prices I'm writing out are in USD). I'm still playing games at HQ, streaming with no loss, and my computer isn't even top of the line. Maybe one day I'll need to upgrade my graphics card, but graphics cards have already dropped in price significantly. I could get a higher end graphics card and future proof my pc *if I wanted to* for $400 right now - this would last me likely another 10 years before I'd be "forced" to get a new card to enjoy new games. Meanwhile the PS6 is likely to be a 2026 release. Currently I have zero fears about my graphics card to last me to at least the PS6, in which case it will have lasted me from late PS4 days to safely into the PS6 days before I'm even going to genuinely consider an upgrade. So I could've bought a PS5 for $400. And an Xbox X for $500. And a PS6 for (likely) $500, but let's be generous and say $400 again. Plus 100$ of ps+ for 6 years, if we're only including years of owning a PS5 (that's a good old extra $600, bringing the PS5 life to $1000 on its own) and I could have bought Xbox gamepass for $60 annually (if we're going the cheap route) for 6 years (Bringing the xbox price to $860). If we exclude the PS6, and we talk about just the Xbox and PS5 we're talking $1860, to have most access of games to your specific consoles, *maybe* have a chance to have your games backwards compatible next generation. You wanna talk about forced payments? It's those years of paying for online that really add up. When the PS6 comes out, I might consider a $400 upgrade. Maybe. -- The $400 gpu upgrade will negate the price of buying the PS6. And to account for the processor price hike right now? Wait for it to drop just like the gpu prices did. I won't need to upgrade my processor until well after my GPU, but hey, I have the freedom to do so whenever I want. Your point about Xbox veering away from consoles? 100% true! Who knows, maybe they end up going more to pc sometime, but in this current generation of gaming? I still saved over $400 by having a pc instead of buying both consoles. And before anyone goes "Well that's only if you're buying both consoles!" Yeah... That was kinda part of my point in my original post where I said "For some people buying consoles are the better choice." If you're only buying 1 console each gen, then sure dude! Stick with it! PC also definitely gets console exclusive games later, but I never buy games on day 1 anyways so that doesn't bother me. Anyways I've written way more than I ever have on a youtube comment here. Gonna mute this 'cause I don't wanna get sucked into a whole thing. If you enjoy console gaming and it works for you, go for it. As a fan of playstation since the PS1 era, seeing Sony fall and all these fanboys defend their dumb decisions is actually aggravating as fuck cuz you know Sony will listen to the fanboys and not the acutal people that actually want good shit. mind you i started gaming on the Genesis/MegaDrive, and worked my way up the ladder, from Sega, to Nintendo, then the PS1, then the PS2, Gamecube, Xbox, Xbox 360, PS3 xbox has always online drm basically (i mean you NEED internet to even turn it on the first time, not to mention the games) Nintendo.... my god they need help PC has DRM Fanboys need to actually criticize their products, its ruining it for the rest of us. The problem is that the fanboys don’t have any concept of exploitation. And the big companies see this and milk it for all it’s worth. Every company is guilty of that. To your Apple comment, the only thing I’d add is that at least Apple products and other products like them make sense for a sizable demographic. I feel like the Portal caters to a minuscule user base and the rest are just scalpers and hopeless fanboys.

it may be sold out, but I don’t know the reason. I know there’s a niche group who may see value in it, but I’d assume the main reason it’s sold out is due to Sonys marketing and their fan base being willing to buy anything with the PlayStation logo on it.

No hate on the game itself. My problem is the fact that they played into the console wars by claiming that their indie game played best on the PS5 due to its SSD even though Sonys own SSD claims have been proven multiple times to just be marketing fluff.

@@GarrettCrespo That’s on the social media person. The SSD used to be something special since launch, faster than any computer that existed but then Microsoft decided to unlock the IO throughput and made it so PCs can compete with the PS5 when it came to speed.

Im an xbox fan but i aint no dick raider for sure . One thing i hate of xbox is there console durability. 2 xboxes down the drain and now im with a 3rd one where the disc drive have trouble reading or instaling the disc and other problems . Now i need to waist more money for console repaires .....

I own both PlayStation and Xbox and enjoy both systems in their own way and I don't waste my time interacting with fanboys/fangirls who always engage in endless feuds over which system is superior to one another. There's no need for fighting over trivial stuff when you can just get the system for the games you wish to play, and have fun.

Lol I usually shit on em all….but considering the fact that I have yet to find a reason to buy a PS5 or XBox series X either one tells me modern gaming does kinda suck, between the hand holding, some propaganda disaster in games like Spider-Man 2, and how graphics are all developers care about anymore, it sucks…..I DO own a Switch, and luckily, they’re not to bad with the things I mentioned above, but omg like the video says, they’re anti consumer as fuck, their needlessly shitty business practices with not preserving games, charging too much for the few they DO preserve…..idk, I’ve came to hate just about all gaming anymore….I hate it, because games are one of few things that I enjoy….I hate to moan and groan in such a way, I feel cringy saying this, but it really is like being in an abusive relationship with something that USED to be a positive thing….and yeah, people and their opinions are the most toxic thing I’ve ever seen when it comes to games lol

Look fanboys are obnoxious but people who act like this is some new thing or even just limited to gaming are just as bad. I would be willing to bet the old Sega vs Nintendo days would have been just as bad if we had the net back then. It could get heated at school fighting over it. So this isn't new. Also, fanboys arnt even just in gaming. Look at sports teams. Hell you console players have no idea how annoying a Nvidia vs Intel vs AMD debate can be in pc gaming. That being said it is always been weird to me to act like this is something new or gaming is somehow bad now
