I bought one last year, It's not worth it for thw follwng reasons: 1. macOS Monetrey is the last OS (Can be upgraded using Oepncore but you lose stability and performance due to cpu/gpu instrustion are old) 2. Thunderbolt 2 in Windows (BootCamp) is very bad and not hot swappable so if any Thunderbolt peripherals are connected must do a cold boot: which connects the devcie before turning on the mac pro to detect the device-SSD-Thunderbolt Dick etc...) and teh big problem is the computer will not go to sleep 3. Limited upgradability.

Still using my 250gb Slim in 2024, my only complaint is that it runs super hot and does require a good cleaning every now and then.

Little fun fact: most of the buildings are based on German medieval buildings. If you go to the medieval German city Nördlingen.. You think a titan will show up any second. Also the Uniforms with the "Stahlhelm" or Steel-Helmet and Cars are also based on German culture. I'm German and it's just crazy how femiliar this footage feels.

I am going thru backlog of xbox 360 RPG now but I vividly remember finding out that Xbox 360 didn't come with wifi nor hdmi support out of the box because when I got my PS3 back in 2006, all those were included out of the box. That explained why PS3 were much more expensive.

Sure, thats cool and all, but the walled garden has absolutely nothing to do with that. Apple could add those features without making their products completely incompatable with other companies products.
@GarrettCrespo
@GarrettCrespo 4 күн бұрын
I totally agree. Bring up the walled garden probably wasn’t the best way to approach this, but brining up “apple” and “vertical integration” or “software exclusives” will inevitably lead to talk about the walled garden, might as well just bring it up right out the gate.

You try to make it sound like that is in any way a good enough benefit to justify apples refusal to allow right ot repair, absurd pricing, lack of real innovation, and their shit is far from flawless.

Also, pricing isn’t really an argument for their computers since they’re literally running an architecture that is barely in the PC space and the ARM computers that have popped up in the PC space are price and performance comparable 🤷‍♂️

Great video, and one of my favorites as well. The one downside that was terrible was the serviceability, no way should they have buried the HD like that. Still it was an improvement over the iBook and g4 ti design. For old ones prob still give the nod to the Pismo.

Ha, no. The proprietary stuff was certainly no novelty back then, it's probably the biggest reason the Vita didn't succeed. Back then the micro SD card was a must for phones, and the Vita didn't support it but its most notable competitor, the 3DS, did. SD cards were cheap and widely available so you could just fill one up and swap to another and have plenty of storage, and the Vita proprietary cards were the price of a game at their cheapest option, and over a hundred dollars for their max at 64GB. Go figure. I loved the Vita from day one, but I could not recommend it in good conscience back in the day. Nowadays, thanks to the community, it's an easy recommend; which yeah, it's crazy that it still hits where it needs to, well after a decade.

Bro, this video PERFECTLY sums up why I cherish old school gaming miles more than the current generation. Those were the best days when ownership of games were trivially easy because once you purchased your own copy of the game, you're set and you can play it as many times as you wish as long as you have a functional system set up with a power source and the correct cables to the TV, and of course a compatible and functional controller plugged in the console.

Something I noticed immediately: In regards to AI generation (music, images etc) Apple seems to be sticking steadfastly to certain values: They appear to be purposely avoiding anything that approaches the "uncanny valley". With music/Logic, it is of note that the major tool that is highlighted in the separation of tracks. So this gives creators a tool, but avoids trying to create the final product itself, and thus avoids trying to emulate anyone or anything. With any image generation, it is notoworthy that they do NOT include "photo realism" or anything similar in their styles. All choices are decidedly more stylistic or via an artistic approach, not trying to emulate reality.

I'm a big Elon fan. He is right a lot of the time. I'm pretty sure he is NOT right here. IMHO you did a great job explaining how his reaction was wrong. I'm excited about how Apple AI may help fix Focus and organise mail and photos. I like the potential for Math Notes, though ATM Math Notes is a little too basic for me, and touchy. I'm never going to have my iPhone configured to use Chat GPT nor Meta which I figure they'll do next, but I'm hoping I'll one day be able to configure it to use Grok as its LLM. Like I said, I'm an Elon fan, and I, just as you, think he is wrong, here.

I very much liked the ergonomics and feel of the Xbox 360 controller, but by god it was the worst quality controller of any generation of game I have ever played. Literally nearly every single Xbox 360 controller, whether it be first party or third party had some issues. For the first party, I had issues with the triggers firing on their own, or the analog would drift. Third party controllers had button issues. Ultimately, the Rock Candy controller was the best one I ever had and is the one I will use moving forward

My first Xbox 360 was the 20gb original "pro" model with HDMI from mid 2007 and unfortunately, it eventually succumbed to the RROD and I had to replace it with the Xbox 360 S model in early 2012. Ever since I replaced the OG model with the S model, it continues to function like new and it has run into zero problems. I agree that while the dreaded RROD is possible on every version of the Xbox 360, the OG models from 2008-2010, S models, and the E models are the least susceptible to the RROD. Definitely not recommending the 2005 and 2006 models (most susceptible to the RROD) and be careful about the 2007 models as well since they're still quite prone to the RROD even with the revisions because the GPU in those still had its fair share of flaws.

I agree. Original Xbox 360 models from 2009-2010 are mostly the elite models and those aren’t as susceptible to the RROD like any pro model from 2005 to 2008. I still think the smartest move is to settle for the S or the E models if people are unsure or uneasy about getting the OG model.

@@GarrettCrespo for OG models, I respectfully believe that it's best to be cautious about the 2007 models and maybe 2008 since they're still quite susceptible to the RROD (just not as awful as the earliest ones from 2005-2006).

It’s not that deep. This was all done in a controlled, safe environment, with a computer that wasn’t going to function ever again. No actual anger involved. Let’s not normalize spinning a narrative onto any content that features firearms. It’s possible to do stuff like this in a safe and fun way without people making it “bad” or “done in anger”
