Modern Ghost Busters Movie Tribute Car: I ain't afraid of no Dodge Magnum Wagon

( www.TFLcar.com ) The Dodge Magnum was never in the original Ghost Busters Movie but if it had been it might have looked like this car. In fact the car in the original move was called Ecto-1. According to Wikipedia "The Ectomobile, or Ecto--1 is a 1959 Cadillac Miller-Meteor limo-style endloader combination car (ambulance conversion) used in the 1984 film Ghostbusters and other Ghostbusters fiction. The original vehicle design was the creation of Steven Dane, credited as a Hardware Consultant in the credits." But that doesn't matter to a true Ghostbusters. Why not just remake the car using a modern ride. That's exactly what Kevin Henry did when he build his own Ecto-1. Kevin is the President of Colorado MOvie Cars ( www.ColoradoMoviescars.com ) and the story behind this Dodge Magnum turned Ghostbuster car is certainly not scary...OK not too scary..as Kevin explains in this TFLcar exclusive video.

I’m currently turning my 2006 Dodge Magnum R/T into an ECTO-1, and can say the biggest challenge for any sort of roof equipment is: the sunroof and how the back hatch opens.

Though very cool, and I love the Magnum, but I think the iconography of the original is partly due to the fact that it was a coroner's car, not unlike a hearse--meant for transporting bodies. That means a longer rear, and the statement that these folks fight ghosts and they use a car that represents the dead. That's just my thought. Still very cool though.

As a man who has his own custom Dodge Magnum set up for the exact same purpose and is part of ghost Corps I agree wholeheartedly this is one of the most ignorant comments the man-made what he liked and modeled it after a wonderful piece of 80s nostalgia but unfortunately not all of us including most ghostheads have the $100,000 minimum to spend on a Miller meteor
