A lapse on flashing details resulted in my chimney chase nearly falling off the side of the house, substantial amounts of water coming in when it rains, and a really expensive repair. The water managed to rust out the chimney box, so the end result was a wall with a window where there used to be a fireplace. So Jaime, keep being on that flashing game. Your homeowners will appreciate it later.

Just for clarification, CCA treated would corrode aluminum. ACQ treated will, in about 200 years, or when the treated is no longer treated. If you were on the West Coast, it’s a different treatment and material. They use Doug Fir. Having said that, I appreciate Jaime’s little flashing jobs and the thought that goes behind all of your details. Peace!

The siding looks really good, quite professional 😉 As for the 12" x 2" board fitting on deck support, kudos on the accuracy. The non-basements is huge, I know it will make the plumbers job easier, but it does seem a shame not to use it for something practical. The building does look good. Take care and see you all soon 🔨🔨🔨🔨🔨
