I did a job with a friend that required the overlap joists within the existing floor system. The difference was that what we tied into was 2x10 . Our engineers asked us to tie back 6 feet front the rim to extend 3 feet out. I'm thinking you guys are just fine with how you did it. But let's be honest, you guys over build......which is the best way, always. Rock on boys

I’m from that little island in the southern hemisphere called Australia. I look forward to every Friday afternoon and Monday afternoon when there’s a PBB video on the tube. Thank you Erik for all the hard work you put into filming and editing. You guys deserve the 1M+ subscribers. Currently enjoying @ramellesmith1520 house build for the second time. Keep up the awesome work PBB…

why don't you rip the slope into the top of the rafters? cutting shims is twice the work.

I like all of the build so far but the smaller houses are always my favorite. This is one of the unique build because of the house owner involvement and also Arlo's last job with the crew.

If those flat roofs are going to be EPDM Rubber or White TPO membranes, the roofer can install tapered insulation/cover board to create the slope. As a roofer, we like built in slopes, but if you have to cut boards to get it, the tapered insulation is much easier.

Milwaukee should sponsor you with one of their track saws! Just saying you would get a ton of use out of it. It would be a hell of a promo for them or makita.

You have got to do better with your international shipping options - shipping to Australia costs almost as much as the belt.

That vevor concrete saw they sent you must be so trash🤣 that you’d use a battery angle grinder to cut the concrete curb verses using the free big one

Across the inlet at Morehead City is historic Beaufort. If you need a hotel, I highly recommend the Beaufort Hotel. They also have boat docks. Beaufort is a maritime community and Blackbeard the Pirate had a house there.

Put upside down rafter brackets on the tops of the rafters, and THEN you could park a truck on the short roof.😂 From South Africa

Man, I remember at the beginning of this series y'all were talking about how long the framing alone would take, and you were not kidding. 50 episodes in and there's still a whole nother floor to frame and roof! Loving it though, the craftsmanship that goes into making rock solid framing that helps the build later on is invaluable to see and document

In my 30 years of building and renovating, the Perkins Builder Belt has been the most comfortable belt. Reaching for tools and hardware feels natural, and it didn't take long for muscle memory to kick in. The hammer sling is my favorite...

I have watched many Perkins Brothers videos ( not just this series on this house ). I agree with all of the positive comments and praise from so many people. I would like to add that one of the things I like is that both bosses -- the brothers -- very often take on the most difficult and/or dangerous tasks themselves. They don't try to find someone else to do it. They just do it. Great leaders.
