41:00 - Ben should have also gotten a token copy of Benthik Anomaly here. Ulalek's ability doesn't just copy abilities, it copies spells too - so it should have copied Benthic Anomaly while it was on the stack. Copies of creature spells come into play as tokens.

I feel obliged to point this out since I just got done with a game that it mattered in also, is that when the orb mills for untapping, each untap mill instance is a separate instance of milling. So when Ulamog the Infinite Gyre was milled, he needed to be shuffled into his library and then every instance of orb mill that would happen afterwards happens post shuffle. Not that big of a deal in this game, but I ran across the same thing when I was playing my Mothman commander deck.

Just a question with mesmeric orb it puts that many triggers on the stack for each permanent that untapped shouldnt ben have stopped milling cards and shuffled to ulamogs trigger then resumed milling after it resolved?

A cool interaction you guys missed: when an effect tells you to "copy... except ", like Benthic Anomaly does, those characteristics are in fact copiable (they are a layer 1a effect, if you want to get technical). If you copy those tokens (like with the Satya copy's effect), the massive stats are copied too!

@@Sliverlife1 Blake instructed CGB to, and CGB did, shuffle his graveyard into his library. But the instructions on Endurance are a bit different: "When Endurance enters the battlefield, up to one target player puts all the cards from their graveyard on the bottom of their library in a random order." Which is something I keep forgetting myself and initially I was very confused when I read CGB's comment.

You know Endurance was wrong, but did you realize that when Benthic Anomaly was copied by Ulalaek, the token copy of it was never resolved?

Pretty sick, reminds me of the "Astral Slide" deck from Odyssey block. Pings incidental damage, directly removes threats on board, drops a hasted beater to finish.

Not that it matters too much but Mesmeric orb each trigger is separate so ulamog should have only shuffled the stuff milled before it back in. since it's trigger would have went on top of the remaining mesmeric triggers I believe. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

When Ulamog was milled through mesmeric orb, Ben should have shuffled it and the cards in the graveyard first before, resolving the rest of the mesmeric orb triggers as they are individual triggers per permanent untapping, and not one trigger checking how many permanents were untapped.

This was a close game! Personally, I think they assessed Ben as much bigger of a threat than he actually was, and CGB took advantage of that to build his combo pieces to swing for the win. This was a beautiful political maneuver, bravo CGB!

All the MH3 commanders can punch hard. My favorite by far is Satya. The interaction with academy rector is abusive. The degenerate things done with reconnaissance never end. The pseudo haste on satya triggers go lethal in a hurry, esp. with doubling effects.
