Yeah, 2nd wife was jealous that he married again, and she’s not “allowed” to be, so she attacks 3rd over a loaf of bread. Polygamy is inherently abusive, and these women are brainwashed to believe they can’t get to heaven if they don’t participate in this. His first wife seems like she may be ace/aro, so was relieved when the 2nd could take on the physical “responsibilities” of marriage. She seemed she didn’t even care about the other two being there. The husband was creepy. The whole thing is dysfunctional, at best.

It’s almost like an agreement/job to these women….I highly doubt any of these women really REALLY love their husbands, or they would be in shambles thinking about him with another woman. They just do it because it’s what they were taught and raised to believe. That they need a husband. Maybe a choice few have actually really loved the man, but it’s doubtful they all are madly in love with him without jealousy or complications.

Not only do they have choices, but they have organizations reaching out and trying to get them to leave. They are not ignorant. They are extremely smart women. They know what they can do with their lives inside the community and outside. They choose family. They choose peace. Would it be better if they were some of the women in the big cities who are single mothers with two or three baby daddies and getting by with the government being the big daddy and supporting their lives? Is that what you would see is better? Because that is becoming the new normal in regular monogamous society. Multiple partners multiple baby daddies and multiple poverty levels. I would say these people have something going very very good.

I agree! How about the needs of a woman? Michael's first wife was probably tired of him. Although I don't agree with this lifestyle, women should be equal and not less. Yes, I know that I can always change my mind, but I highly doubt that's going to happen. So even if they only do those spiritual unions if they run around saying my wife you can be arrested and serve time. They have had this law before but it was changed but then it came up again and I'm not exactly sure what the final outcome was but it was pretty far along and passed several votes. Currently I'm not sure if this law was put back in play or not but yep the issue was calling more than one woman wife.

Joseph Smith wanted more young wives so he concocted the polygamy story. He said God gave him some gold plates which he buried so could never be found. How ridiculous. The man was not of God. Jesus said it was finished. He didn’t need Joseph Smith years and years later to add to anything he said and to destroy marriage.

You really need to study your Bible. God commanded polygamy in one instance.

Honestly, what difference does it make? IF these people enter into this lifestyle, willingly, then leave them alone. IF there are any issues with abuse or domestic violence, then intervene just like for every other couple and relationship

Wellll most of the time it's underage girls who are TOLD which 40 year old man they will become the 12th wife of so I hardly call that willing. They are raised to believe it's the only choice they have and if they refuse they are either kidnapped and forced or pushed out and shunned from anyone they know and love. I was watching one the other day where a form of punishment was outcasting the wife to live in solitude for months with no contact with her children. Willing. One thing. Brainwashed for a man's sick power trip is another. Oh or the ones where they marry their wives daughter's from first marriages. That's disgusting.

Would you recommend Utah or certain area's there as a place to live as a biracial family? I've heard it was pretty nice there but never been.

Those aren't polygamous areas. The mainstream Mormon Church does not practice polygamy. Both Sundance and Provo are mostly mainstream Mormon. Also, I live in Orem, 5 minutes from Provo and I know several African Americans and several biracial families.

How do they avoid marrying close relatives with so many siblings in the same geographical area? Are there often genetic defects?
@rosygreen7
@rosygreen7 5 ай бұрын
This community has the world’s largest incidence of a genetic disorder called fumarase deficiency. It’s caused by marrying cousins and close relatives. This has happened for generations. Fumarase deficiency causes severe mental retardation. There are also other genetic disorders emerging from this cohort. It’s no wonder. If you have 50-60 siblings on both sides, how the heck would you even know all your own siblings, let alone cousins. Cousin to cousin marriage from generation to generation from the Pakistani Community is starting to have significant burdens on their health system. Children are being born mentally and physically challenged and blind. I recently viewed a documentary on this topic and it is traumatising to see the poor innocent children inheriting miserable and painful lives due to their selfish ignorant parents.
