Hey Jay, thank you so much for playing and discussing my game! I've actually been following your channel for a while (On a different KZbin account), so it's a huge surprise and honour to listen to your thoughts on Barbotine. I'm also excited to check out the other games you shared. Thank you for spreading the word on all these niche projects. Love your work, keep the awesome videos coming :)

No problem! Love helping out and supporting the cause for small indie developers. I'm looking forward to the full release of Kanpeki!

Its incredible that how indie devs have made so many Resident Evil inspired video games, and work alone proves how much they've grown with these games. They deserve so much appreciation for all the hard work they put into making them.

In the Dead Space Demake section, I can instantly pinpoint the exact place of every clip, as soon as there is anything more than just generic corridor walls. And I'm not even a super fan of the game. Really a testament to the strength of the level design.

4:32 Just wanted to let you know “aiming down sights” means actually looking down the iron sights of the gun. In Pathogen-X the protagonist is aiming using a laser sight. Aiming Down Sights (ADS) is like Call of Duty, pulling the left trigger or L2 in able to do so. Again just wanting to let you know and i am not in any way trying to sound condescending! Please keep up the great work i love your vids!

After dabbling in all sorts of different game engines & art programs, I’ve found a new appreciation for game development… 90% of this stuff is a huge pain in the ass to make 😵💫
@Nominod9 ай бұрын
Definitely gonna have to give some of these a try. Im normally not a big fixed camera person but Endless Blue looks really cool. Btw if you like these retro games I found this one on steam called Dread Delusion. Not a horror game but definitely has some dark/horror elements.

When it comes to games, i miss the PS1-PS2 era. Tech has advanced but we shouldn't stop making previous gen games. They'll cost less $, take less dev time. Add selection to our game library. We need games that harness art design which has proven to make some games timeless. Inspiration from previous game gens should never stop, no matter how advanced we get with technology. Timeless games don't need hyper realistic graphics. Some of the best games have unique art styles such as Sly Cooper. Anytime i say this someone in the comments always says: "well we have indie games" but that's not my point. I wish the gaming industry would recalibrate their focus & start making games for consoles with all sorts of styles & designs. Just look at current Gen consoles Game Library's? It's NOTHING compared to the N64, PS1, Xbox, GameCube, dreamcast, 360, PS2, Sega Saturn, classic PC games, etc. If game companies will make games that are inspired by previous gen designs, it shouldn't take so long to make, it won't cost so much money to make. It should be easier for devs to focus their passion on a smaller project. Especially with today's technological advancements. Previous games should still inspire newer games no matter how far into the future we go. We shouldn't leave those unique aspects of game design in the past. Hopefully the struggles of the modern triple AAA games will organically transition the gaming industry back towards a better direction. It's exhausting how long it's taking for most games to be made. Just for a lot of those games to end up being total let down projects anyways. It's crazy. Idk how these game companies have been able to keep getting away with this BS.

I love those kinds of games, which is why I made one myself! If you were ever to play it, I'd be really honored. For those who are interested, it's called "Echoes of Decay", and the demo is currently available on Itch. Great video!

I think your videos are great. My only nitpick is that I would sometimes have done with showing a bit less of the games/demos you're talking about. For example, the premise of Endless Blue was pretty appealing to me, but you basically spoiled all the surprises that the demo has to offer, included the end credits. Therefore, I know I'll be expecting them when I play, and they won't have the same impact as they could have if I hadn't been shown them. :/ Maybe add a spoiler alert at the beginning of your videos or in the description? It's really a nitpick but I think it would make a nice difference and give people the opportunity to have a fresh experience with the games, if they so wish, before having your whole analysis on them. It's just my humble opinion, though, and I really enjoy your channel none the less. :)

Where'd you get that Pathogen X demo that looks like a PS1 survival horror game? I looked it up on Steam and found a game with the same name, but it's a FPS. It has a demo too. Not sure if that's the same game/dev featured in this video.

May I give some constructive feedback? Cut down the amount of words you are using. I realise it may be tempting to use as many words as possible to properly describe something in a seemingly analytical manner. But when every other sentence becomes word salad, it quickly becomes hard to follow and on occasion nonsensical. As an example: ”It gives the game a lot of merits to its design, and makes it very engaging to keep the players attention to its detailing within its progression of its gameplay.” Before the sentence has even finished, it’s hard to remember what it actually is about. Try to give the longer sentences a rewrite, give them simpler structure and some punctuation. If you’re worried about filling out empty space to complement the shown gameplay, maybe you could try to let the game speak for itself more often? Also, please refrain to use words you’re unsure of. “Antithesis” may sound impressive. But you used it in the total opposite way it’s meant to be used. Your videos have cropped up in my recommended tab, and no wonder. They tackle really interesting subjects, things close to my heart! And I love how you’ve introduced me to some real gems. But it saddens me to see how it is somewhat spoiled by lofty ambitions. Tone down the vocabulary, it’s not impressive and even detrimental if used incorrectly. And keep the language simple. It becomes so much easier to take part of your thoughts that way. And that’s why we’re here I’m guessing! To hear your thoughts about interesting experiences you’ve found! Keep it up! I love the premise of these videos. And I look forward to see you evolve.

there needs to be more horro games about mental health. how every once in awhile it becomes to much to a few people. than it just takes control. they're not aware that everything around them is normal. because of that mental illness can easily mess with you if you let it. I knew there a few games out there that a plot twist you been playing as a bad guy. but what if you playing a character that was innocent. because of those illnesses we view them as evil people. what I'm saying those type of horror games and movies. should be more of a awareness message thing. because most people judge on the ill to harshly. to the point those people are just beyond help. because those "normal" people just can't help but be assholes to the weak.
