A dead multiplayer horror I loved is Damned. 4 players are survivors, and 1 player is the monster. Was so much fun.

A previous friend and I used to play white noise online from time to time. "Dem knees gurl!" was always a thing we would say anytime we saw the orange sweater girl XD

I remember Dark Deception got a lawsuit from Monster energy drink, cause they can't use the word "monster" in their title. They even try to trademark that word. Good thing they didn't won the lawsuit.

white noise online, and its much lesser known sequel white noise 2, has been a key memory of my childhood. easily clocked in 700+ hours into the sequel before it eventually died. thanks for keeping the memory of this game alive!

Dark Deception ia one of my greatest hiperfixation, it's such a shame that it's sooo underrated, i wish more people would talk about it again

Super interesting concept! Growing up partially on the 360 I remember some of these. Never knew dark deception had a multiplayer game. The last game was the craziest of them all :o Excellent video and good job on the research :D

There’s a veritable library of abandoned games on steam. And some of them always bring up the question to me “why did everyone leave”? I appreciate you answering this question

My friends and I played white noise on the 360 a lot back in the day. It was always a good time.

Thanks for such nostalgic video. By the way White Noise have a sequel White noise 2 and it's as dead like the first one. This is really sad because White Nosie 2 really good game, it's have many new mechanics, monsters, maps and even character and gear customization. Survivors can even fight back monsters by using flashlight and many new items. Bassically perfect coop experience without any microtransactions, battlepasses and stuff but sadly dead and forgotten. If you intrested I advice to play it, it's fun even solo but with friends of course better.

I used to be weirdly obsessed with White Noise Online as a kid and I have no idea why. I even went to the extent of ripping and converting all the assets such as the models and audio, just for fun, viewing pleasure. The music, audio, and animation work for the game were fantastic as well. Dark Deception could have been so could but unfortunately seems to have lacked a proper content cycle and support system, but it was cool cause it had a Monstrum, and even a Silent Hill crossover! I think another issue with the game kinda boiled down to it not really having that great of an art style and generally bad level and balance design. A horror game with lots of game-specific crossovers is such an amazing and unfilled niche and its so disappointing that DBD has kind of reigned over any other attempts at it, since that game, imho as someone who played from the beta all the way til 2020, is not a good game at all and continues to stray further and further down that weird rabbit hole of its development. I think that a horror game idea with crossovers could be great, Identity V does it extremely well and I find that game always finds very interesting and usually niche things to crossover with, such as Junji Ito, Persona, etc etc. This was a really great video and I thoroughly enjoyed it, great editing work, and I liked the writing! Although I'd like to say, while I do like your narration, perhaps it could be a good idea to perk up a bit when reading your scripts? I can sense effort in your narration, however it does sound a bit like you're falling asleep at times ^^ Also, extremely based Asper Girl. Love that song so much, and love Yakui the Maid, and the other Maid artists so much. Glad to see another enjoyer ^w^

White Noise did get a second game that wildly differenciated from the first. Same core concept, but completely different and quite fun.

I used to be in love with dark deception in 2019 because it's cool gameplay but after waiting for so long for each chapter and played many other games, i was beginning to see dark deception gameplay become super "boring" so when dd chapter 4 was released, the only thing made me pay attention to it again wasnt the gameplay but "the sexy nurse" was.

Of course Monsters and Mortals is dead. Glowstick Entertainment is like one of those indie mascot horror game devs who instead of finishing/polishing their main game, they do everything, BUT that Like, seriously, a multiplayer spin off before even finishing the main game? (Which STILL hasn't released all chapters) and reusing assets from that, too? Make a franchise ONCE you've finished your first project and have actually built a name for your series
