Use a fender extender and I used and painted mine with black Hamerite with 136 miles on it did it from the start lube everything that you can get to with ACF50 and you won’t have any problems, obviously not breaks or discs . 😁

Its worth fitting a front mudgaurd extender. The longer one is preferable over the short one. Waxoil the underside and wash regularly, touching up any stone chips. Avoid using in winter if posible, especialy wet conditions. But with the price of petrol I can understand why even those of us who lay thier Vespas up for winter normally are tempted to use them. I have had three GTS’s over the last ten years. The one I have now is a year old and I have undersealed it.

Looks very much like a winter use scooter. My dealer offered to strip and waxoil my 2 year old. He said a lot of owners do it from new, I don't use it in winter so didn't bother.

Wow that’s worse than my 1999 ET2 😳 my floor pan is rusty but still solid I’m currently restoring the whole thing

Looks like the owner stores it in a bath of salty water. I ride a 1975 Lambretta GP in original paint (ridden daily), still almost totally rust free. Vespa really went down the sh*tter post 2T P Range.

Looks like someone who has be riding at the beach or riding all winter on heavily salted roads with stonechips and never took care of their Vespa

Blame the rider for design faults. Great.

or it's just crappy build quality. explains why other brands use plastic.

Son environnement c'est probablement bord de mer, autrement dit,il doit rouler dans un milieu humide et salin , c'est pourquoi il faut la laver à l'eau claire et traiter la rouille avant perforation

A welded steel monocoque..... Ok, fine. Did Piaggio bother to galvanize before primer and paint?

For $10,000. Out the door new, Vespa should be using stainless steel. Premium price should have premium materials.

Never seen one that bad before. I have a 2006 GT200 that I bought with 1800 miles on it in 2016, it now has 14,000 miles on it. It would be hard to tell from new. A few very minor stone chips under the front from stones thrown up by the front tire. Absolutely ZERO rust, even where the stone chips are. I'm in Arizona, U.S., it doesn't rain here, no snow, no salt on the roads, nowhere near the ocean. A local salvage yard has Ford Model T frames and bodies with ZERO rust. Only problem is it can reach 120 degrees F (49 degrees C) here in the summer. Not a fun place to be. Any place they put salt on the roads it is going to absolutely destroy anything made out of metal.
