Have you played MW remastered? AKA CoD 4? AKA the "Golden era cod? Can't put one pixel of your pinly out without immediately getting blasted into oblivion by the whole enemy team camping inside a building on the other side of the map. So yeah, when it comes to replicating the classic Cod 4 vibes I think MW219 does it better than any of the modern cods. It also had a somewhat consistent art style.

Dude it's so funny how this game have two sides of people, one group like you, super cod fans that hates it, and other group (I'm part of) that got tired of cod after bo2 and this was biggest whiff of fresh air ever and this is actually my favorite cod game :D god I will never forget playing this game back in 2019 and then in 2020 quarantine started with Warzone launching and it was just best gaming experience ever, then Cold war released and I was disappointed that it was on old engine of games I got tired of :D and then Vanguard and I left cod again, returned for MW2 and it was alright but sadly 2019 moment for me haven't happened again and left cod till this day, haven't play mw3 or bo6 but still love watching your videos

To put into perspective for people, you would play Hardpoint on the base maps and the top frag would only have 16 kills. You would rarely meet the 250 second mark. In TDM you'd rarely get 75 - 100 kills. The match would run out of time.

This game got me back into call of duty and I was excited to see the new graphics for Cold War just for them to go back to the old game engine and now making black ops 6 just looks like Fortnite I loved search and riding in a van or helicopter to the map it felt cool

MW3 was my first COD. MW2019 was my favourite cod game, for me, it was awesome. I enjoyed the guns, loved the story, the movement mechanics, aesthetic and the tactics. The ttk felt quick, which punished anyone who was too aggressive. It forced you to think your actions through, which made it so you had fast paced and stand off moments. Since this COD, i have come away from the franchise, MW2 was okay, Cold war was meh (but the campaign was great). I honestly wish cod let you buy the story on its own, as I'd pay just to enjoy the campaign. Interestingly, this game was the one that made me realise, i am not interested in being tied to buying a new cod game every year. I feel that they should invest longer into a singular game. I have switched too BF1 (which i still return too), Enlisted and The Finals.

I played a lot of Mw19 hardpoint during 2024 to try and get clips for a montage. What annoyed me is how they removed a bunch of maps from the hardpoint playlist. I think it was a bug or mistake that happened after an update and they never went back and resolved it

I find this Cod the hardest to formulate an actual opinion on. There's so much good (movement, gunplay, engine) but so much bad (75% of the maps, low ttk, objectively bad/grindy camo system). Also alot of "MW19 glazers" are SnD players and thats a whole seperate thing.

TDM is ass in this game but this is truly the best return to form and best game since BO2 hands down so long as you're playing objective based modes. A little sad with the state that they left in the game in though. No shoot the ship, 10v10, missing ground war maps, and various other game modes. Wish i just paypal a random IW employee $20 to stealthfully add the missing game modes and maps back when their boss isn't looking.

Personally, I loved this game, but thats partially because it was my first cod other than codm. I see and understand why people hate it, but those things just werent detrimental for me. I actually continued to play it for years until mw22 came out, and I swapped to that game. I didn't see the changes either game made to be a downside, but more of just a change of scenery and keeping the player base on their toes. They are different games after all. Ive even gone back and played the games I missed, and I still consider mw19 and mw22 good games compared to those. In the end I had fun, made tons of memories, and thats what matters. thank you for listening to my tedtalk

On top of the launch maps being absolutely atrocious... Don't forget the lighting issues for the first ~2 months. You couldn't see ANYTHING inside a building if you were outside. So people would just take a step or 2 back from a window/door and camp sightlines... It was eventually patched, but it was ROUGH initially. I pretty much agree with everything you said. Great looking/feeling game, but it played like ass.

I agree the 6v6 mode was trash in this game... Because of that I only played 10v10 and GroundWar and I really enjoyed the game in these modes. Personally I liked the fact that Dead Silence was a field upgrade. It made me die a lot less beause of some guy rushing me silently from any direction. Also I don't agree on your point that Tac Mask or EOD should completely counter the effects of tacticals or lethals because that would make them useless and the perks too OP. I like the fact that these Perks gave you some benefit by reducing the effects of lethals and tacticals but still let you a bit vulnerable when getting hit by these things. I agree though the game is basicly unplayable without Quick Fix and EOD...

I get the dead silence thing for sure, but I think the footstep audio needed more adjustments because without it, everyone sounded like elephants running around haha it felt like a crutch. I also do see your point with the perks! You dont want equipment to become useless, but also at the same time if you have a perk it should counter it to a degree and it doesnt feel like EOD/BH in this game did enough. Thats why I made the comparison to BO2 because I felt that was the best example of how perks like that worked

The cheater accusations are probably the most frustrating thing about the franchise at the moment. I've been playing MWIII since it came out and can only say I've seen one hacker with 100% certainty really on in the game who was lazer beam headshotting everyone with a desert eagle at ridiculous range. Then the other week I was having a good few games and popped off with a Marksman rifle and get someone in the chat calling me suss. Like, I'm suss because I beamed you across the map with a marksman rifle? The thing they are designed to do. It's turned into, if anyone is good at the game they are immediately accused of hacking - which encourages otheres to report people and have them banned for being good.

I LOVE Vanguard. I like Ghosts. I LOVE Infinite Warfare. I like Advanced Warfare. I try my hardest to give every CoD a chance, even if not during year one, and I'm usually surprised with how much I like games I thought I wouldn't. But 2019? MW19 is the worst Call of Duty every created. There are no good factors to this game in my honest opinion. It's just all bad. Even the survival mode returning is ASS, considering it's unnecessary change of difficulty from MW3/AW Survival modes. Every moment playing this game is pure agony and torture. I don't get the appeal. And considering I dislike the Battle Royale genre, that definitely didn't help. So many of the modern issues started with 2019. It couldn't even have it's own name. I would have to be paid literally $1,000 to play this game for a year. Tangent over, I'm getting some cookies

I wish people played a bit less douche-y at the time You could name a few CoD games with claymores, and camping has been a thing since even Quake But those playstyles just amplified intensely for what i think is no good reason (some would say the maps but I dont think that was a main thing) It also seems like they really abandoned the Spec-ops mode; maybe it's because of WZ in the background, maybe it's because of the slightly-below-room-temp reception to it, but it feels sorta wasted.

Skill-based matchmaking was a thing in previous FPS games but it was swept under the rug and it was a more fun version. Basically, like in Battlefield for example, there'd be an equal mix of good and bad players. This really worked in part because there were so many players. CoD's system is just worse in general (more like a ranked ladder) but also there are less players in CoD games. Modern game design is just awful, there's been a huge brain drain from various big publishers and developers and every talented creative was replaced with someone who could put more slop on the conveyor belt to make Bobby Kotick another billion dollars.

Still the best cod MP since BO2. The best respawn MP for me in so long. Hardpoint, Domination, Demolition, and Headquarters was so good on it. The gunplay, animations, movement are the best in the series to me. CW gameplay especially gunplay was so bad compared to MW19 gunplay. CW Gunplay (ads especially) was slower than even MW22 gunplay and I hated it. Lmgs and Snipers were just no fun to use at all. Even ARs felt lethargic compared to MW19s really smooth and fast gunplay. Not to mention MW19s way better gunsmith than CWs bland attachments. Also while yeah there were some real big duds on MW19 launch maps like Euphrate bridge, picadilly Would take Hackney Yard, Gun Runner, and Petrograd over any of CW launch maps or especially BO6s launch maps. BO6 has tue worst launch maps in cod history. I really don't enjoy too small meat grinder maps. So never enjoyed maps like Shipment, Nuketown, Rust. BO6 maps all feel way too meatgrinder with no flow. Tbh MW22 may have went a bit too slow (better than too fast like MWIII and BO6 though plus MW22 still had faster gunplay than CW did) but its launch maps are easily the best launch maps of the Warzone era. And for reference been playing cod mp since Cod 4. I also am not a camper. Camping is boring and I move around the map (depending on objective though). Also I do not really enjoy tdm. I need objecitve game modes. Also Gun fight was the most fun addition to cod in so long. So much fun.

@@GhostaTheHidden was a huge comeback for CoD mostly due to Warzone, not the multiplayer. Multiplayer on launch received a lot of criticism for the reasons I discussed throughout the video. Campaign was great, mp was not, spec ops was rather disappointing due to lack of content, and how broken it was at launch - most nostalgia that comes from this game relates around lockdown and warzone, hence where the “this saved cod” discussion arises. Warzone did, not the core game. MW2019 was just tied to the perfect lightning in a bottle moment. You mentioning “classic Verdansk” reiterates my point exactly. Warzone was and wasn’t exactly fresh and new considering we had blackout br a year earlier. Me personally I wasn’t one complaining about “cod is the same boooo” kinda ordeal, I was extremely disappointed with this game and still am all these years later due to the figurative screwdriver that IW threw into the CoD foundation of 6v6 multiplayer. Gunsmith was cool, gunplay mechanics like the attention to detail was also very nice in this game, but like I said towards the end, I don’t care how good a game looks if it plays like garbage. Which it did imo with no red dots, no dead silence, horrid launch maps, spawns, introduction of heavy sbmm as we know it, and more. My disappointment only arises more at the thought that it took 4 years later with the release of MWIII to get a modern warfare that brought back classic fundamentals that the original series had pretty much perfected (imo) 12 years prior. MW2019 will unfortunately always be a bottom 3 CoD for me

@ Your completely entitled to your opinion but it stands to reason that MWIII has much more aggressive SBMM, not to mention this algorithm started all the way back in WWII and I'd say BO4 had much more aggressive SBMM except all eyes weren't glued on it due to the disappointing package that was on display. What makes a game unique is the way it stands out by doing new things, especially to a franchise. You have to innovate and push the bar, try do new things. MWIII has one of the worst campaigns to date, not to mention the terrible Zombies, the only thing overall it did well was the live service and post-launch content for Multiplayer, even then most the seasonal maps were copy/paste of classic maps and even maps from Vanguard like Das Haus, furthermore all the base maps for MWIII were cut straight from the cancelled MW2 Remastered Multiplayer which I'd argue any classic cod fan would choose that any day over MWIII which should've been a patch for the god awful MWII reboot. To bring up Spec Ops on MW2019 is interesting because MWIII is no different, the developers did an even worse job on the other modes even screwing up the Campaign so bad. Sledgehammer gave up and decided to just recycle Warzone into Zombies passing the ball over to Treyarch and continue a Black Ops storyline which makes absolutely no sense, at least MW2019 stands on its own and has its own universe. The Spec Ops mode is at least something a bit more unique and is in continuity with the MW franchise. MW2019 set a foundation and base for what was to come, without the entry we wouldn't have had the upgrades to the engine facilitating everything we have now in the franchise, particularly the new things we got in MWIII. It's not just about shiny new graphics with the engine, finally we got an upgrade to the stale gunplay plaguing new cod releases and furthermore an expanded move set with tac-sprint. Overall, MWIII is a pretty decent title for cod multiplayer gameplay but that is pretty much it. With MW2019 you get a much more cohesive package without Fortnite-style bundle packs that make absolutely no sense for a military shooter. The thing with MW2019 we got is a much more cohesive game for the franchise that had some kind of continuity and reinforced the tone of a modern military shooter, something that is lacking in most games today.

For me this game was a coinflip. One match could be some of the most fun ive had in years and the next couple be the sweatiest/campiest dogshit ive ever experienced. Generally speaking tho, i did enjoy it for what it was. Is it the best CoD we've ever seen? Absolutely not, IW stays taking Ls in that regard, but as an FPS game it's pretty damn good all things considered. Its just a shame you have to play it so differently to really be able to enjoy it. Also warzone is absolutely the worst thing to ever happen to the series
