Anyways Makarov must have loved showing Captain price the good ol sneaky Chechen surprise. “Hell awaits you” Killing Soap, Prices beloved and also creating confusion by saying he knew Yuri. That created hell for Price and Call of Duty. I got high.

The thing that gets me the most about this scene is the lack of subtitles after Soap dies. Hearing Price scream, trying desperately to keep his best friend alive, begging that this isn’t happening, but to no avail is truly crushing, and I don’t know what it is, but not having subtitles makes this scene feel more real, and more crushing because of it.

Why does Makarov knowing Yuri deserve a punch down the stairs? Firstly, Makarov knows Soap and Price as well, and Secondly, if he wanted to kill them he would have so many chances to do that before. Lastly, if he thought Yuri was a double agent, why would Makarov expose him?

+4SidedStar Probably because Price was really enraged with the death of Soap, and knowing that he was having someone who knew the enemy, felt betrayed (Soap just told Price that Yuri knew Makarov, he didn't specify how he knew it).

+4SidedStar I think the point they were trying to make, is it shouldn't have been news to Price and Soap, and that Yuri should have told them rather than keep it a secret. Especially Price, who had been dealing with this crisis for 20 years and isn't going to take any sort of risk upon hearing about one of his squad mates having a history with the enemy. I'm sure he would want to get it cleared up even if he did hear Makarov expose Yuri.

The Modern Warfrare trilogy was the best introduction to Call of Duty I've had as a kid. Still one of my fav CoDs.
