Love how you see GK training. I can really rely on what you said about the coach pinging perfect balls showing off his technique more than his trying to improve the GKs haha

Quality. I now stand maybe 3/4 length of the goal mouth on corners. Such confidence boosting when holding a catch!

Very helpful. I've found in recent years I've been drawn more to my near post then when the ball goes towards middle / back post I struggle to get across when an oppo player heads it at goal. Basically this video endorsed what I had been thinking that when the ball is wide I need to be stood more central. Not sure if I was done at my near post a time or two and that is why I started protecting near post a lot more, but it definitely doesn't help if a cross is whipped in from wide.

Great explanations. You're right one hand punches may be costier. I remember once I opted for a one hand cross and just mismatched the height and the ball dropped into the 18 and striker scored. So 2 hands are best akways.

Loved this lads! Always enjoy watching different crossing techniques. The factors that go into crossing are huge and Lee/Pat are examples that you don't have to be a Cortouis size to be good in the box!

Lee what gloves did you use during your pro career and how often would you cycle through them?
@ModernDayGK3 жыл бұрын
Hey there! Lee always looked for gloves that felt light on his hands and had thinner latex to have more feel on the ball. He wore a lot of uhlsport retros, then Adidas ace trans pro, then finishing his career off with Nike mercurial victory touch. We are in the process of creating a new match glove which will hopefully have a good mix of everything we believe a goalkeeper glove should have!
