SIDE VOLLEY DISTRIBUTION | HOW TO AND WHEN TO | WITH MATCH FOOTAGE | MODERN-DAY GK

This is part one of our distribution feature: Side Volleys
You might be great at hitting side volleys in training, warm ups or in the park with friends. But doing it in games is totally different.
In games you will do not at pace. You will have to find space. You need to assess the situation and figure out what type of side volley to hit.

An underused and underrated tool for the goalie this. The side volley has a lower and faster trajectory but requires 100% commitment and confidence to be able to use effectively. I'm gonna start pushing this is my sessions from now on, cheers again lads.

Very helpfull and usefull! this consistent stuff is "goald" 🤑 for gks (and gk's coaches) I agree about the fact that side volley technique is underrated, and underused at last in young and amateur leagues, allthough it is a great and powerfull technique for modern football... I think it has to be trained in teamwork setting, to get a strong connection between the keeper and ithe strikers... The side volley is (should be) less a gk initiative than a response to a striker's call... For me, side volley is above all a counter-attacking passe for keepers... It's a fast sharp offensive weapon.... More destructive when made in spaces, on wings for a 1vs1 or between (or behind) centerbacks or centre back and wingback... Therefore this may become an assist or goal real opportunity

well al the coaches nowadays want the fast passing from defenders start behind ball and to find ways to escape the pressure of the opponent and sometimes this can lead to a score though a nice volley on the side can release the tention and lead to a nice fast attack . Not all the time but done in critical moments can make the opponents hesitate in whether they push or they will have to run and hurry all the way back to their defence.. The GK is the mind of the game and all players must be prepared for the unexpected.
