Great information, I use a similar camera but it’s a Sony. I use sticky back toe warmers on the batteries when it gets really cold. It helps a lot, when it gets below zero the camera batteries draw down quick.

hey Billy, i guide out of kotzebue and on the peninsula as well. I can vouch for a brand called Anker that makes solar panels and batteries. I have 2 of the tri-fold solar panels and 3 of the external USB batteries to keep my inreach and phone charged. Ive had pretty good luck with them, i just set the panels up outside my tent before i head out in the morning and then i run my cords back into my vestibules where i leave my batteries. even on days when its really cloudy, ill get at least half a charge into the batteries. Generally ill wait for a nice sunny day and i can get all my batteries and devices charged up no problem. Thanks for this series, i hope to start documenting my hunts better this season!

How many SD cards do you use on a hunt? how many batteries do you bring for each of your three cameras per day or per hunt (coldest conditions & how to keep em warm)? Thanks

I try to use SD cards with large enough capacity for 1-2 cards to handle each hunt. That said, I typically film 2-5 hours per AK hunt. Batteries seem to last 3 years. 2-4 batteries seem to do for each hunt. After that they die-off quickly. I don't worry about keeping them warm, aside from keeping my "spare" in my pocket.
