Hello Sir, (didn't catch your name), just received my exact same heater last week. I took the white metal cabinet off to do a pre-use inspection, fuel line and such before starting mine up. It's built very well and did not find anything loose or crimped. Anyhow, just wanted to let ya know, the plastic grill on the intake end is just screwed on hand tight to the burn chamber. That and the fuel cap will need to be removed to disassemble, then pull out on the side to clear the exhaust tube. Only started mine once so far but I really like it and would buy another. It's my first diesel heater. Enjoy your heater, Ken

Ty DIY...Gave me just enough info on control panel to figure it out...only didnt give info on set up button? the one with wrench***
@ModernDIYProjects14 күн бұрын
Glad I could help. I didn't give any info on the wrench because on my application it didn't seem to do anything. I tried tapping it and long press and nothing. So unless there is some combination of moves that I am missing, it doesn't do anything at this time. Maybe it's an obsolete button not used any more.

Looks good, thanks for testing and opening. Does not look like it will need a fuel line upgrade but definitely some type of heat sheathing since it is so close to the exhaust. Is the top control box able to be relocated? Looks super easy to kill it by accidentally spilling fuel on it, not the best location. What is the true fuel capacity? Amazon says 1.5 Gal or 6L but the unit shows an 8L mark?
@ModernDIYProjects11 күн бұрын
The control panel is fixed in place so it cannot be moved. The capacity of the tank is 8L. The Amazon specs may be outdated.

@@ModernDIYProjects Agreed. Someone shared with me that if you keep the UP button pressed for 3 seconds it changes to Fahrenheit, it works :-)

QUESTION: Is there a special procedure to prime the unit when starting for the first time ? Than you and God bless 😊.
@ModernDIYProjects11 күн бұрын
Not really. This one does everything by itself. Just click the temp you want and wait a few seconds for it to prime the system. Then it starts up all by itself.

Has anyone run this on 110V ? How do you change it to F? The manual requires a Rosetta stone to translate.

I agree most user manuals these days are like a Chinese puzzle box. Since I do this for a living I have become good at deciphering them.

I have one. The specs for output and fuel are wrong. I do like it. Heats my 19 x 24 foot living room. I have to run it between setting 4 and 6 when it is 30°F outside. Consumes around 1.5 to 1.7 gallons from 5am to 9pm. Also you CANNOT set by temperature.
@ModernDIYProjects11 күн бұрын
I would just say that "Your mileage may vary". Keep in mind that this is just a Diesel engine so it may perform differently in different elevations, times of day, run time, etc. I'm sure they tested it under optimal conditions just like all manufacturers do. So yeah mileage will vary. As far as temperature goes I was able to set that in the control panel with no problem. Maybe it's just your control panel acting up.

For anyone wondering LF-Bros has a very similar heater BUT I think the quality is better in a few different parts. Like the bottom bucket on LF-Bros Is solid heavy duty cast aluminum. Also the cover is held on with clip nuts an screws instead of machine screws that just thread into metal. Also the gas cap seems to have a better o-ring seal on the Lf-Bros, The fuel line has a tiny spring inside it to keep it from collapsing...It doesn't have pop rivets holding things together...
@andrewvillavicencio849611 күн бұрын
Besides cosmetic differences in quality, does the LF-Bros have better burner or internals? Thanks
@ModernDIYProjects11 күн бұрын
@skulledmonte84 I know what you're talking about. I already have the LF Bros "Darth Vader" model. The reason I made this video is because a bunch of people complained in the comments of that review video that the LF Bros was too expensive. So for those folks that don't want to pay so much, this is a good alternative. But I do have a video review for the LF Bros also on my channel page for anyone interested in that review.
