I love pit bulls! I have a blue nose and my daughter has a champagne pit. So now we have 8 champagne blue nose pups they originally bread them to be nanny dogs. Having puppies in the house brings back memories of having sleepless nights after having babies. Lol This snow is crazy but it’s beautiful. Nature in Alaska makes you slow down and enjoy the view.

I'm from Alabama. The first time I traveled and experienced "real snow" I was not expecting how wet I got. It makes sense, that it gets on you and then melts. But like you said, if it's not part of your life, you don't think about the practical parts. It just looks pretty in pictures. Also learned, it doesn't stay pretty lol.

Hi Jessica, Aaron and sweet family! Oh my goodness Jessica, I hope your alright. That was a nasty fall. The dogs are so cute playing in the snow. I fell down my parents steps when we lived in Chicago. I was heading home and I was 8 months pregnant, it had rained. The rain made the painted steps slippery. It was 20 steps and all I remember was seeing my feet for the first time in months. I wasn’t hurt, but my back was sore and bruised. I thought my poor mama and daddy where going to flip out. You made me laugh out loud talking about putting your boots on the wrong feet and saying you where a toddler, lol. I did a similar stunt. My dad owned a catering and vending company. This was after we moved back to Tennessee. He had a huge catering event at a GE plant, about 500 people. He asked if I would and of course I said yes. He told me what day and time he needed me. So it was about 3:00 am I got up to get ready to go to my dads. I thought I was smart and laid my clothes as shoes out the night before to keep from waking up my husband. I had a two pairs of flat shoes I loved, but one pair was plum and the other pair was burgundy. Both colors match the top I had picked out to wear. I laid the shoes side by side and thought I would decide in the morning when I got dressed. Needless to say, I got dressed in the dark even put my shoes on. I made my way to my dad’s house and walked in where there was several other people there to work that day. My dad said, hun, do you need money? I looked at him really puzzled as to why he would ask me that. I said no, why? He said you have the same shoes, but two different colors. I looked down at my feet and sure enough, I had one burgundy shoe and one plum color. Boy did I feel stupid. Everyone started laughing and now I can laugh about it too. I did call my husband to bring me one or the other of my shoes since he was going to be traveling that morning to another county that was close to my dad’s. At least I would look presentable at the catering. Poor Aaron worked a longtime out in that snow. I’m sure everyone enjoyed your delicious chicken and dumplings. That was always a good stick to your ribs meal on a cold snowy day for my family. I’m glad everyone made it home safely. Beautiful sunset Sorry I’m long winded. Have a blessed night and day!!

@@modernhomesteadalaska life is so real sometimes, I just think to myself and say..what where you thinking, lol. If we can’t laugh at ourselves, then we surely have no sense of humor. My daddy was the biggest jokester and believe me, I didn’t live that one down. He got me a pair of baby shoes for Christmas. That’s ok, I got him a six foot stuffed Noid from the old Pizza Hut commercials because he would imitate that thing. He kept it for years sitting in one of his office chairs. Guess my sense of humor runs in the family, lol. Have a blessed night and weekend!

Well sister Grace!! You must have a doozy hematoma over your injury. Try a warm compress for comfort. I’ll bet you will bruise pretty far down your leg . At 70 I can still take a tumble. Although I admit since I am a “fluffy” girl, I bounce like the Bumble!! If I were a tiny lady I’d probably crumble like a potato chip! Aaron needs a drink holder on his tractor. One that can handle an insulated carafe of coffee. Your home looks so inviting and cozy. I love the feeling of soft light in the evening. Take special care on the roads, remember for as capable and experienced a driver as you are, there are many who are inexperienced or chemically hampered sharing the roads with you. Enough Momma preaching. See you next visit ! Hugs to all. 😘❤️🎄🤶. Momma G

Love to watch your vido's!! We have as much rain as you have snow in the Netherlands (snow is more work but nicer to be in). In Austria they have alongsides the roads and around other obstacles (like your well) long poles. So you now where the road is with heavy snowfall. You could also put them around your well as wel 🙂 Did you not buy the black coat? It looked very nice.

The next tractor Aaron gets needs to be a cab tractor. When my hubby upgraded that's what he got- He loves having the heat and a/c...lol Poor thing- Sorry you fell. If you fall a lot maybe sitting on that tractor isn't a good idea...lol...I can laugh- I fall easily too. lol. On another note, Aaron is a good man. That snow time was amazing, I enjoyed it so much. Those heavy snows are a different animal all together and so much more work. It's been so long since I've been in real snow, it was a good reminder when I saw your windshield wipers up. It ices here in Dallas and I forget to do that. Of course here, we aren't prepared for snow and ice and just stay home. It was interesting to see the sun up and sun down times, I didn't realize how short your days were. I had a feeling when you said "dumplings" I was going to see the real thing and they were! Here in Dallas the dumplings people make are like thick noodle chunks, not pillowy puffs. The way you made them is what I grew up on. I know how to make them but can't remember my mom's recipe to get them nice and fluffy like that. Could you please share your recipe? Thanks for bringing us along on your day!

Hopefully one day i can find some. Some are even too small for me. Oh golly, I sure am laughing at the dogs romping in the snow! Don't you just love dogs. Wow on the well......Guess you will have to put an antenna or something on top, so you won't make the error and plow it......rocks or no rocks, you cannot see them under the snow! YEp, that is a massive amount of snow so early in the winter. That poor dog, with the snow up to her chest...she will sleep like a baby tonight... After watching Aaron on the tractor, no need for him to shower tonight.....Just stand in the shower, and let his beard drip on him.....enough snow in it for at least a 10 minute wash! Ho Ho Ho! Holy cow, you DO have a lot of snow. How long will it take to get to the end of your driveway? Trying on the jackets, reminded me so much of the movie....(forgot the name of it) You know, the little kid that wanted a BB gun for Christmas, and his parents said he would shoot his eye out? Anyway....You reminded me of that! The Sunset is gorgeous. Oh yummy...chicken and dumplings.....You are such a GOOD COOK! Merry Vlogmas to you and yours...........Rest, relax and have a pleasant evening...........Bev in Maine

maybe getting old but if I live in Alaska and I buy a tractor I probably wouldn't buy a tractor with no cab on it. to me look like your husband was very cold on that tractor. one of 2 things I would get a plow for that pickup truck or a tractor with a heated cab so i can stay dry and warm. maybe it me I can't handle the cold anymore lol 😂 😂

Wellll I think I might feel different. I’m seriously here for the snow I truly love it. Kid in a candy store live it. I think like Anywhere we moved by choice ur was not where we were raised. So our mental game was I am going g to love it. I’m going to rest and let my mind unwind and let my click reset and in the summer we have almost 24 hours of day light so it’s I’m going to go 110 miles an hour all day until I give out. And rest in the winter. If you move someplace like this you have to come with that mindset. Thanks for asking it’s very common.

@@modernhomesteadalaska Thank you for responding. I’m sure you must have come from the northern States? We have Daylight Savings time here in Massachusetts. Which means sundown at about 4:pm. , and sunrise at 6:30am. Not too much different. All I can think of is sleep!!! I’ve always lived in Mass. I live in Plymouth ‘America’s Hometown.’ You know, the pilgrims and all. That tiny bit of sunlight on the few days that it is not raining or snowing are so precious. BTW, I hate snow because I’m 73 yo. and have to shovel the stuff. Happy Winter and wishing you all the best wishes for the holidays.
