Looks like part of the clay formulation changed. When I first tried this two years ago the clay had a gray color and had more of an ashy texture which I thought was pretty unique. I just got a new jar a few weeks ago and the color and the consistency of the clay is different. It is now white and creamier texture. I haven't spent much time with the new mixture, but the previous iteration was more on texture and less on hold.

I tried this a while back. Wanted to love it because the smell is awesome but my hair strands are thin and this wasway too dry to work even a little bit well. The wax was decent though but not really worth buying again. Clay seems like it would be good for thicker hair.

What product would your recommend for medium length fine hair? I tried a few matte clay products and found out some of them makes my hair look way too dry so it appears unhealthy. Atm I'm using ocean clay from shehvoo and it has a decent hold with a natural shine so my hair doesn't appear too dry. Problem is this stuff is a bit too pricey for the amount you get. Looking for something that's priced right, gives off a natural shine (not completely matte nor shiny), strong hold, and good volume.

Hello I just don't understand what I should take now if I don't have that thick hair. Clay? Wax? matte paste? Can you please recommend a product for me? (I have very thin and flat hair).

You want something that won’t weigh it down because your hair is already good at that most likely being thin. You want something to thicken in and plump it up. People can tell you all day long “oh you need a wax! Or you need a clay!” But the truth is you can buy both of those and still not find what you are looking for because waxes vary, and clays vary. You need to do research on brands and narrow it down that way. I’d look at a matte paste first off, or a wax. My brand has both a matte paste and a wax cream and both work great for fine hair. Of course my brand isn’t the only one- flagship has a matte paste that’s great, lockharts does too, shear revival, Don Juan, there’s a ton actually but the good news is- I’ve got videos on pretty much all of them! You can see how they look and my thoughts and maybe narrow it down from there. Hope that helps!

Need more shine: Paste. Need more matte: Clay. HOLD is pretty similar. But then that all depends on your hair and how much hair you have. Still confused? Paste: For Evening Wear Tux . Clay: For Daily Day Time wear. lol... But , that's just me.

Can I use both on top of one nother? Maybe the paste for that shine and the clay for the hold?

What do you recommend for thinning hair?

look for something more volumizing. "making your thinning hair seem thick".

Awesome video, looks interesting! My hair is quite coarse, and that's an understatement, so must clays I can only apply to damp hair, this product however, looked quite pliable. I may just end up giving it a try.

Might not even be worth it for a clay anyway. Adding in water can really inhibit the effect on some clays.

They should remarket the paste as a cream instead, save the confusion
