It’s funny how most car reviewers want less button cuz it’s too cluttered but want physical button when there is screen. You really cannot please everyone.

Why would anyone want "Auto-Hold" off? It's the best feature in the world! Can't live without it now at every stop light. Thanks for the review!

Thanks for the kind words, Jon! It truly is a wonderful feature but for some folks out there, I suppose they like having their foot pressed down...I use it often myself.

@@Modern.Motoring Understood! Glad we have the choice! What I'm happier about is the Auto-Hold stays on after the car is turned off and back on. On my current vehicle, I have to hit the Auto-Hold button every time I get in to turn it back on. So Lincoln got this one right!

I have a good reason. When you stop with a bit of a forceful brake application, and lock the car in place the brake rotors will cool all the way around except where the pads are. This is when you get a rotor wrap. I have never gotten one since I have been doing this approach, as the rotors are cooled evenly all around.

I own a Corsair and use the Auto Hold but when the car is being held by Auto Hold and you first step on the gas pedal there is a small jerk as the car begins to move. This could be irritating to some.
@JonLabbe
@JonLabbe Жыл бұрын
@@gieb6428 Interesting. Is the small jerk from Auto Engine Off or from Auto Hold? I haven't experienced a jerk with Auto Hold, although I don't have a Corsair so I can't compare.

none of the other videos I’ve watched mentions the 3 step motion to turn off the fan. That’s a serious oversight with the human factor considerations in my book.

Good review - thanks. With regards to the HVAC fan speed/off/on issue... most folks will use the "Auto" feature so the only button you have to worry about is the temperature setting.

The apparent aggravation of the power seats would be a non issue when you set up your memory seating. Likely, set it up once and just push the button. Also, please...a spare tire, or otherwise.

Everyone. Everyone wants to change gears via touch. I haven't looked down at my shifter in 25 years. All by feel. Hope I will be able to get use to all these new style button shifters many manufacturers are using these days (Lincoln, Acura/ Honda, GMC, etc). Thanks for all the detail in your video!

Comprehensive review, would be amazing to have an additional short segment during the night to show case the amazing lighting. A fully loaded Corsair is about $68,000 Canadian. For this price segment there are other brands for a luxury compact SUV (Crossovers). This Corsair is on my short list but I’m waiting for the launch of the Genesis GV70 and Audi Q5 (Coupe sports back) hopefully by the end of 2020 or early 2021

I wonder which has the better retaining value after the same number of years: a basis Corsair vs a dressed up Escape? I know Corsair is sort of new & with no relevant data. But past MKC resales value can shoe in nicely.
@Modern.Motoring
@Modern.Motoring 4 жыл бұрын
This is an especially challenging question as the Escape & Corsair are brand new. From my experience, a dressed up car fares better on the resale market than a bare bones. That being said, a "bare bones" Corsair still comes with plenty of goodies. I'd lean towards the dressed up Escape.

Why does the touch screen on the Corsair look like it is just stuck on the dash instead of integrated like the MKC and every other new Lincoln model?
@ryandaniel4571
@ryandaniel4571 4 жыл бұрын
Get used to that look. It's becoming more and more common. And by the way, the integrated touch screen is now only found in the Nautilus as far as SUVs are concerned. Aviator and Navigator have the same design as the Corsair.

Not a bad review, however, a couple of your “nits” bother me. First off, your comment about the headlight switch being ‘over engineered’. I think 99% of all people just leave that function and auto and never touch it. You say you like to drive with your headlights on, but that’s covered by your daytime driving lights being always on anyway. Leave that switch in auto and don’t touch it. Secondly, your complaint about the climate control system being overly complicated. Again, whenever your car has an auto function for the climate control use it. Put your car to the auto setting, set a temperature you and leave it alone. My wife used to always fiddle with climate controls until I explained to her how the auto function works. It was quite a revelation to her and she wondered why no one had ever explain that to her before.

Hi Daryl, Thanks for the view and feedback. I don't like having my Daytime Running Lights on and prefer to have the full lighting system on at all times. My driving instructor instilled that in my back in the early 90's when I got my license and it's stuck with me. Keeping it on auto activates only the DRL's until it gets dark. I may be in a small pool of drivers who prefer that though. I understand your stance on the auto function...I get warm/cool throughout my drives (weird, I know) so I like to have easy to use controls to adjust. Again, thanks for the feedback - much appreciated.

Nice vehicle but I prefer Cadillac. In particular the XT4 which I bought. Don’t like push button transmissions. The controls are more intuitive in the XT4. In my view the Corsair is a tweed suit to the Cadillac’s tuxedo.

My brother bought his wifea 2019 XT4 and I thought the thing was horrible...noisey, bumpy, and the interior, especially the dash and console area just did not feel luxurious. But, because he's my brother, I never told him that.

@@Modern.Motoring we could always use more comparisons to other same priced offerings. Are the Corsair's comfort and well thought-out but gimmicky Tech and placement - its only saving graces, compared with drivability?
@Modern.Motoring
@Modern.Motoring 4 жыл бұрын
@@adamwright9741 If the Corsair had a more intuitive and non-redundant-features based infotainment system, I'd be happier. I'm happy to sacrifice storage space in return for a better-laid-out infotainment system. Sure, it's modern and advanced but for me, there needs to be more simplicity in basic functionality. The drive quality and power from the 2.0 engine do well, as do the comfort of the seats and lines of sight. I'm hoping that the 2021 or 2022 model address the redundancy of some infotainment systems.
@adamwright9741
@adamwright9741 4 жыл бұрын
@@Modern.Motoring me too because I was really hoping American ingenuity would be enough to rival the Germans by now. Let's see if they attack those Tech redundancies, but also I'm wondering if that pesky steering wheel voice button is as bad as Consumer Reports makes it out to be
