Always, always, always support your local people if you can. They care about your community and the people of that community. Conglomerate owned big box stores only care about the bottom line. Good video 👍

We had a wonderful time shopping in Shipshewana, IN. Lots of Amish made furniture and delicious Amish fried pies, cheeses, beef sausage sticks, pies, and the Yoder’s soft pretzels were like fluffy, melt in your mouth clouds. Here’s our road trip from last week. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hmq9lIigmp6Wh9Esi=fwQEia-Qz9e_q-FI

Nice selection of chain saw bars , my Husqvarna dealer has very little , and is always waiting on a shipment , the Husqvarna dealer in my town , Iron Mountain , Husqvarna pulled their entire line , mom & pop hardware store , and Milwaukee tools pulled their entire line , People were Bummed ! Both sides of the isles packed with every Milwaukee tool made, they had spectacular sales numbers ! Putting the little guy out of business on purpose ! Tractor supply sells baby Husqvarna chain saws , and Home Depot sells Milwaukee power tools , but not 1/4 of what the mom & pop store had ! They had everything , from tiny to massive ,

Awesome! I'm so lucky to have moved to an Amish community and become friends with several Amish families. Our Amish store-owner friend is letting us sell herb seedlings in his store this year. We usually purchase chicks through him, he places a bulk order once he has enough. Well this year they told him he'd have to wait until June to get his order! He asked us if he could supply fertilized eggs to us to hatch out, so we're in a new endeavor with that! Before I end my fairly-long comment here, I just wanted to give you a garlic update! Based on your fall garlic video, we peeled our garlic, soaked them in vodka, then in water-soluble fertilizer before planting. We planted 320 cloves and probably more then 300 of them already popped up! They were about 3 inches tall before we got a foot of snow dumped on us overnight, here in Northern Wisconsin! I'm looking forward to harvesting the garlic and will be using your method from now on!

My sister and I visit the Amish stores in our area whenever we can. We go to the bulk food store, the bakery, and the creamery where we can get butter for less than $3 a pound. It's always a fun day trip, and we always bring home more than planned for. 😊

There's a couple of Amish stores in our location. Most of the farm you can buy from them directly. Mostly fresh produce when in season. They do process meat. They raise pork and beef and sell you the whole animal and then process it. We take our livestock to them. The Amish have to use steel wheels on everything. The Mennonite can use tires, phones etc. Have a great day everyone!

We have a bulk food store a couple miles away from us, here in West central Ohio. It's run by German Baptists, nice, friendly people. I've filled some of my buckets pretty quickly by shopping there. They have been offering an ever-expanding farmer's market there from summer into the fall, which is amazing! It's a small store, but it's great for us, because we can get nearly anything we might need there in a pinch. Also, over in Indiana, probably about 40 miles from us, there is a huge Amish store (locals call it the "Amish Wal-Mart "!😂) Much bigger selection, and lots of fresh produce in summer. Thank you for naming some items to think about. It always helps to have another person's ideas. Blessings!

Great vid, MR! I hunted for about 15 years from the early 80's in the triangle formed by Mio, Lewiston and Luzerne and we always used to make first stop at a farm/homestead on (I think) "Cherry Creek Rd" and pick up delicious home baked goods for deer camp. In archery season, they had bales of straw for practice in camp for $3 a bale. Nice friendly people.

Thanks for sharing. I usually go to Clare but I'm also fortunate to have Amish that live just 1/4 mile from me, and they have just a small store where they sell all kinds of baked goods, furniture, and produce that they grow. We have a mud truck that's a wrecker called Sweet Irene that they just love.

The local Amish store is very small, food only, mostly 2nd’s and dented cans and at expiration. No fresh meats. The Amish community split in two as the store was almost complete. Half of the Amish sold everything and moved about 75 miles south into another state. Anyway, I’d love to see the stores you visited. I also miss Ace hardware stores. There is a Lowe’s 30 miles away beside a Walmart and a Kroger.

I shop in these same Amish stores. Love the quality and prices and they are honest people. The drive alone is worth it, the Amish farms are beautiful. I stopped in Narskis back in October and the smell of cigarette smoke was awful. Had to throw out the breakfast sausage I bought because of that smell).
