Lyrics from 07:45 on: I don’t know but I’ve been told You’re baking cakes inside your souls Stayed awake, took a nap Got myself, my bottles back I’m breaking them out on the street I’m walking around my own damn feet I do not need you to tell me that I am not a cat We caught a ride, we caught some air He’s never gonna cut his hair It takes more time to make a fake We now swam down in the lake And washed the dirt off our intentions Prattled on about bad inventions Well I don’t know but I’ve been told He’s baking cakes inside our souls Stayed awake, took a nap I got myself, my bottles back I’m breaking them out on the street Walking around my own damn feet I do not need you to tell me I’m not a cat We caught a ride, we caught some air He’s never gonna cut his hair It takes more time to make a fake We now swam down in the lake And washed the dirt off our intentions Prattled on about bad inventions, ohh oh Cause I didn’t know but I’m sure I was told Well I'll die before I get old Well I guess it takes more time to make a fake Lucky, lucky, lucky, lucky me again It looks like it’s time for me to use my feet again Well I don’t know but I’ve been told He’s baking cakes inside our souls Stayed awake, took a nap We got ourselves, our bottles back I’m breaking them out on the street Walking around my own damn feet I do not need you to tell me that I’m not a cat I caught a ride, we caught some air He’s never gonna cut his damn hair It takes more time to make a fake Well we all now swam down in the lake And washed the dirt off our intentions Prattled on about bad inventions Hold on to what you need, we've got a knack for fucked up history Hold on to what you need, well we’ve got a knack for messing up our own history I don’t know but I’ve been told He’s baking cakes inside our souls Stayed awake, I took a nap Then I got myself, my bottles back I don’t know but I’ve been told Baking cakes inside our own damn souls Stayed awake, took a nap Got ourselves, our bottles back Lucky, lucky, lucky, lucky me again Well looks like I should probably try to use my feet again Cause I don’t know but I’ve been told Lucky me again, again Or else I might not even get a chance Everything I thought I could Remember I just probably should have wrote down But ah we’re all so clever What’s life in saying you can’t Well it’s hardly enough in the coelacanth At the bottom of the ocean swimming scummy Wants a little more of I don’t know but I’ve been told Baking cakes inside our souls Stayed awake, took a nap Got myself, my bottles back I’m breaking them out on the street Walking around my own damn feet I do not need you to tell me that I am not a cat Well we caught a ride, caught some air He’s never gonna cut his fucking hair, well well Hold on to what you need We got a knack for-ohhhhh-oh-oh-ohh Cheer up, baby, it wasn’t always quite so bad For every bit of venom that came out The antidote was had, well Cheer up, baby, it wasn’t always quite so bad For every bit of venom that came out, the antidote was had Well I don’t know but I’ve been told He’s baking cakes inside our souls Stayed awake, and took a nap Got myself, my bottles back Breaking them out on the street Walking around my own damn feet I do not need you TOOO tell me that I am not a cat I don’t know but I’ve been told He’s baking cakes inside our damn souls You didn’t talk when we’re running down the alley Well lie on the cavity, it’s probably in the galley Well I met this girl, she said that she was hungry Well I just got done swapping her ID I got a dollar so it looks like you still damn really fucking like me Or can make yourself, usually talkin’, talkin’, get you talkin’ again Hell, we have take a vote again WHOA

As a fan of MM since the early 2000's this is a joy to behold! While I'm sure they planned to improvise, I think the horn at 4:03 was so out of tune that the rest of the band tried to quell it by playing random notes. Not unlike MM to fuck with peoples ears, but I feel that in this particular circumstance, they were merely saving the out-of-tune horny lad from embarrassment. And it paid off.

It's sad they don't do this kind of drunk live shows anymore. But from what I heard the rest of the band didn't like Issac messing with the flow of the show like he did. I wonder when he change up the beat if the other band members where confused at first and then went along. Although he does sound quite winded and out of it.
@ahaplesshappenstance7 жыл бұрын
mean, doesn't that kinda sound like Jazz, what you've described? I was interested to look at the Wiki for how the different people have filtered in and out of the band.
@fuzzydunlop79285 жыл бұрын
Damn, that's just how Isaac does it. The band was essentially a jam band in their early years - Jeremiah the drummer really carried the band as a cohesive unit in the early days because he had to be able to roll and lean with all of Isaac's improvisation - Eric the bassist also could groove. I think the band's gotten too big for its britches which is really interesting because it's basically Isaac's band, he's the leader and it's his say at the end of the day so he must want it this way. So weird. Anyways, I think they're a tighter unit these days, they've grown into this bigger grandiose set-up to a degree but that early, lovely imaginative spark from the improv is gone. No more low-fi whitetrash jazz.
@joshyphenry5 жыл бұрын
@@fuzzydunlop7928 i agree to a degree. But goddamnit if I don't just devour everything in the realm of MM. It's all better than most shit. It has heart & soul. Rare in these times we find ourselves in
