He did..Qasim Razvi supported him..The reins of the party came into Owaisi's hands..He was sentenced to 11 months in jail for the crime of assuming the leadership of a banned party.After his imprisonment.. Nehru offered to give Owaisi the post of Union Minister.. But.. Wahid Owaisi did not agree.. He spent his full time to give new impetus to MIM.. In 1975, Wahid Owaisi's son Salahuddin Owaisi.. took over the reins of the party from his father.. His sons Asaduddin and Akbaruddin The Owaisis* are currently doing well for the party..
