Some advice from a Evo 7 owner, I had to sell my car due to rust in the floor pan, I didn't look under the car when I bought it and a year later holes started to appear. The rust was so bad I had to sell it for way less then what I bought it for. It was a shame since the motor only had 100K on it, Couldn't afford to keep it.

Damn those Canadians getting the 15 year old cars with 0 issues... My personal favorite EVO looks wise is the 5, but no matter what the generation it is an ICON! I can't imagine driving on the other side of the car though. Never have had someone with a RHD approach me for a review. It would be interesting for sure. Taking it around a parking lot to re-calibrate your brain is probably a necessity. This looks like so much fun though, not insane horsepower but very usable everywhere. And the fact the owner drove it to Cali from Canada makes it that much more impressive and a testament that he put it together very nicely.

I had the Bridgestone RE003 version - they were good in the dry, not terrible in the wet - only lasted me 18,000km so pretty disappointing given they are marketed as a fairly high end tyre here. Have switched to Michelin PS4's now - far better tyre, well worth the extra money - 10,000km mark now and looking better than the RE003's were at 5000.

JDM evo come in RS an AYC Matt, The 7 Fits in with the 8/9 since they are all CT9A's Big difference is that 8/9 come in 6 speed other then a RS models when it comes to Jdm as for the 1-7 are all 5 speed which is the more desired box an much stronger AYC is good for all climates but a draw back is its extra maintenance to do the fluids an you can have a few effy things to do with them But realistically Ayc + stock diffs is like a 450-500whp Figure on a Mustang dyno then Changing up the diffs Ayc wont like more then 800whp which is too much in an evo in my Opinion for Full weight street as for an Rs model has the 5 speed an a diff that will take 800-1000whp beating However for Tony 7 block is the weaker motor i personally wouldn't attempt 400whp on the rods they will no doubt bend when you using a 20g/25g turbo but if you chasing stock block figures fpblack+ keeps your rods alive but makes it a highway only car i'm glad to see a Evo 7 in the states they are the best budget evo here in Australia since they can go for as Little as 14,000 Aud an an if your doing a track/drag car you can pick up the Auto Gta for 9-11,000 Aud :D I wish i had of got a 7 instead of my 8Mr would of been less hassles an i didn't even get the good colour 8mr * gun metal* Good content as always Matt :D

Literally the same thing as an 8 just has an uglier front and wing. But I guess it might look cool to you since it will be different to all the 8/9 out in the USA. But ya have fun with the prices of them once they are us e Legal. R32 gtr use to be $10k in Canada now they are $25k+ in the usa so I'm assuming a $15k Evo 7 will follow suit and be a hell of a lot more once it's USA legal. That's why I'm holding on to my Evo 6. I'm sure it will be worth twice what I paid for it once it's USA legal.
