Modified 2016 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk Walk Around

We got the opportunity to do a walk around of one of the most OG renegades out there and talk with it's amazing owners. They are also a couple of our NTJR Experts on our Facebook group, and moderators in our Renegade Overland group.

@@FNG0000 people tend to discount it because it’s considered the entry level Jeep, built in Italy, and doesn’t have solid axels. But the more people getting out there and showing what they are capable of helps tremendously.

@@Reediscovr I honestly can't wait I've been wanting to be apart of the Jeep family all my life. I got connected to the App and excited to see what she can do on the trails. My first mod is gonna be the three pieces from Valkyrie for under body protection and some rock slides in the side. That's my plan put the protection on first lol.

@@aaronlayes4485 I’m happy to hear you say that. That is a fantastic place to start. Just a recommendation, when you start to look at lifts and tires, I would avoid the puck lifts and just go with Eibach pro springs. For the tires I wouldn’t go bigger than 235/65/17, a lot of people will tell you otherwise, but don’t do it. If you want more sidewall you can always go to a 16” wheel and 235/70/16. Anything bigger and you start hurting performance more than helping it.

I'm so bummed out. It seems like AVID might be done for, and they are the only ones I know that did dedicated front and rear bumpers. I REALLY wanted that tire carrier bumper...wish I knew where to get it.

I know how you feel. I know of a couple of companies working on some new options. There’s a fabrication company in East Texas working on a rear bumper with a tire carrier. There’s also another pretty well known company in the community working on a front bumper. I can’t say the names yet, but I know I’m excited.

@@3piecerevival389 the rear bumper is Belle Mere Fabrication (small outfit). As for the front bumper, if you’re on the Facebook groups, I’m sure everyone one will be posting about it when they make the announcement. It’s supposed to be pre runner style, and fix some of the overheating issues caused by the avid bumpers. Hopefully we can get our hands on it and test it like some of their other products in the past.

I was looking at the Terra Flex for my Trailhawk and seen those spacers. So you don't have to install them then? It seemed to me it defeated the purpose of the lift. Cool build though.

Philip was referring to the rear subframe spacers. They are there to help get the alignment back to factory spec. However you sacrifice ground clearance for the rear diff. It is possible the run the lift without the rear subframe drop.

I have a Renegade Trailhawk, excellent car. Walks on almost all terrains. Lots of comfort. In the mud you need appropriate tires, those that come from the factory do not help. See mine in action: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iKimhKRrq5djsNk

This is one of our members renegades. He states in the video what all he has done. There is nothing to really show under the hood. This renegade wasn’t built for racing or speed, it was built for adventure and camping. There’s no real need to add a lot of power, when all it does is decrease the reliability.
