This is the best track-focused channel on KZbin. As a 1LE owner I appreciate the Camaro content, hope to see a ZL1 on here soon! Or maybe you should just buy one

Suspension is the one thing I wouldn't mess with on the 1LE.

Drop springs are not a simple change. First thing is the ride height sensors need rezero’d. But the biggest thing is the few rubber bushings need “timed”. Otherwise there is a bind in those bushings. Going deeper on that, the SS 1LE front bar mounting bushings are actually glued to the bar. The rear bar mounts are super tight around the bar. This is by design by GM. In either case the bar preloads will change after a new static ride height. Bouncy feeling? Start looking at these various bushings.

Well, does it translate into more fun though? Not everyone is searching for their fastest track time. Most of us mod our cars and just drive them on normal street roads. I’m sure the mods that this owner has done has translated into more fun on the street.

Even I have a m2, I think 1le still the best car for under 80k.

Both the M2 and Camaro SS 1Le cars aren’t worth $80k lol

I know the springs hindered the performance, but it looked like having to tame the beast was more fun haha. Great content 🙏🏾

Love this car! I own a rapid blue 23 ss 1le, and it's amazing! I can't wait for my first track visit. Great video!

Another dope video! I know you reviewed a gt350… would be nice if you could get your hands on a Mach 1 handling. I’m sure you would have some good insight to compare the 2 platforms. Keep the videos coming!🙌🏽

That dsc controller is great but I have a 2019 camaro ss 1le and I have dsc controller and coilovers and it's been a nightmare. I'm more then 10k into these shocks and controller and have spent the last year having issues with the coilovers and never feeling happy with how they feel. They are back at dsc sport getting tuned. Hopefully this fixes them

Another great review 👏. Which springs was the car on?
@davec356813 күн бұрын
The car seems twitchy and needs too many corrections when it should be extremely stable... it's very sensitive to tires, not sure those tires are doing the rest of the car justice. It's hard to beat the OEM wheel/tire package unless you run SC3R, Cup2R, RE71RS, CRS or similar on lighter wheels. it's almost a certainty the OEMs would be better than what you're driving on. I run 18x12 square with 295/35/18 RE71RS. Next, magride is excellent and you need to spend a lot to do better. I have MCS RR2 shocks, a ~$6k+ suspension which is ~1s per min faster than magride, and it handles curbs extremely well, as good or better than magride. I had a DSC Sport controller, it works but the oem springs are way too soft, DSC can't help you there. It could also use a stiffer front roll bar, a ZLE adjustable rear bar, stainless braided brake lines, Ferodo ds3.12 pads, and ZLE solid aluminum rear cradle bushings. If you do all that it'll be faster than stock, but you give up that nice soft suspension which is great on the street, but the MCS with reduced damping isn't too bad.

Basically, there's no mod except rims & tires... As you already know, intake & exhaust without a tune is almost nothing. Otherwise, love your videos - especially with the best of the best car: BRZ GR86 (surely, I have BRZ tS)

Thanks for watching, It’s tuned with an intake, header and full exhaust. Dyno showed an extra 40whp.

way too much sawing at the wheel, fun to watch but too much work to drive consistently.
@twostep926613 күн бұрын
YEs, springs might be too stiff for dampers but your throttle and steering needs work. Your steering and throttle inputs are too herky-jerky. In a high HP and TQ car with a square tire of course you're going to be battling oversteer with those controls. I find the more exciting and animated a driver is behind the wheel, the slower the are. Might sound counterintuitive but slow down and soften your inputs to go faster.
