Gday, This is a kit sent in by a very generous viewer, the plans have been re-drawn with a few modifications to improve the tool, when I reach 20k subscribers i'll be giving away the original die holder I made in 2019, if you'd like a chance to win this please subscribe and i'll be announcing this soon after I reach 20k subscribers, Thanks very much for watching, Cheers Matty

I like the threader you just made because it really keeps your hands and fingers out of harms way when it is threading your work piece. Rest up Matty, don't over do it you have to recharge your body after a treatment. I know because my best friend is going through it with brain cancer, and I take him to all his treatments, some days it is good after the treatment , we even go to dinner in a steak house. so Cheers always

Another beautifully made piece of kit Matty, you should be proud. I have just started making a new button die holder myself, but my little homemade lathe would struggle to hold the tolerances needed to make something like that. Hi Matty I hope the treatment has gone well and not knocked you back too much. My very first KZbin video was a die holder. At that time I could not understand how I had worked so long without a die holder. But the issue I have with my one is that I use it manually, without power from the lathe. I'm too scared to make threads with it under power. Now your die holder with the clutch is exactly what I need to cut threads under power. If something goes wrong then you can just release the handle and everything spins. Thanks for the video, I'm going to add this to my list of builds.

You're a bloody master! Just a question on forming the male cones. Did you just machine down to a similar "point" by eyeballing it to get them consistant? Because that looks a pretty difficult edge/point to measure accurately. Again, a masterful job! All the best with the rust removal. If you're having teament in Canberra, remember; I'm here - ready, willing and able to provide any support that I can.

Gday Bill, what I did to get the cones to be as close as possible was to machine them so the flat on the small end looked the same, there hard to measure but very close, it’s probably not the correct way to do it but it works, im getting treatment in Bega but I’ll definitely keep you in mind if I end up in Canberra again, cheers mate

I hope the chemo went as well as possible for you. I can see one of those kits in future. It would help if I got better at single point threading though.

Gday, Chemo went well but starting to feel the effects, this is a really good build and cutting the threads isn't that hard mate, if I can do it you can, Appreciate you watching mate, Cheers

Hi Matty. You are going through what i have been through & it is not nice. But what i will say is you are handling it better than I did. I locked myself away & that was the wrong thing to do. Chin up fella. Steve.

Another great video thanks Matty. I must be a dummy, I couldn’t figure out how it actually works, with the cone clutch and the handle thing. But the build you did was great.
@MattysWorkshop
@MattysWorkshop Жыл бұрын
Gday Ian, the cones just lock up with friction when you push or pull on the handle, this is why the cone features have to be a super smooth finish to prevent galling, thanks for watching mate, Cheers

Good work Matty, Remember with the chemotherapy you will lose your fingerprints, weird I know but worse is you lose the grip on your feet. Be very careful in the shower so as not to go arse up. Good luck and Cheers.

Hi Marty, I hope you’re doing better after your procedure. I just bought those Hemingway plans for the tail stock die holder the shipping was jest as much as the plans and stock in the United States, but after watching you make yours I thought I would give it a try. Take care my frend.
