I just got this axe in the mail from Kevin Kevech, and I'm excited to test it out! Kevin Kevech has a whole series where he fixed up this axe. See the first video here: • Axe Review Part I: Och...

That wood sounded tough! It’s also frustrating when you’ve got a small piece that wants to move around on you. I’m just glad you got it. I knew you would actually use it. And I used to think the same thing about 25” handles. It makes a great limber. I will say that. I’m excited for you! Congrats!

Great vid. Thanks. I love watching chopping. It makes me want to chop some myself so outside I go. Thanks again.

Sounds like very hard wood! Very nice that a chip hit the camera! that is the kind of shot most axe-tubers want! :D

That ax bites pretty deep. Restrictions are easing so you will be able to go chop wood and feed the blackflies and mosquitoes. Thank you for showing us your new axe, Michelle. Stay safe and stay cool

Thank you for watching and commenting! Yes restrictions are easing, so I should be able to get chopping soon :)

Yeah maybe not the best. Hopefully next time I’m lucky enough to get something softer. Thanks for watching

Cool axe! Never fun when the log rolls around on ya, but you still got it done! I really need to get myself a European style axe to try out. I’m pretty faithful to my connies, jerseys and wide Dayton’s. Need to branch out and try new things lol

Thanks! One thing that takes getting used to with this pattern is the toe of the blade sticking into the ground when you chop because of how much it sticks out. But it means you have a long cutting edge so there’s a tradeoff there.

I'm almost what I'd call addicted to jerseys and wide daytons.....but I yet to have a Connie in my hands yet...I have one on the way tho

Ugh I could feel your frustration in that one. I find that Steven Edholms technique of putting the front of your toes on the log and chopping between your feet works for me. It sounds dangerous but when you've got that control especially for light logs like that that bounce around I find if they're shoulder width apart it's fine though doesn't tend to be an issue. Ox heads are great I have the Canada and it works really well with a bit of a tune up I love the handles.

Might try that once I get some chainmail socks! I have been liking the Ox head. Recently I narrowed out the bevel more and am seeing how I like it. Thanks for watching!

@@MichelleMakesStuff Cool i hope to get to more again as part of conservation work as a lot of invasive species where i am lolThe back of the Log sorry where you are facing so the logs between you and the axe still if that makes sense.

He did a horrible job! He has no clue about axe handles - and how to fix them.
