Are stadium trucks making a comeback ?

I hope they do. They're a close second in my eyes to 2wd buggy

Kinda. The problem is there's a lot of opposition to their return from the buggy guys who don't want "new" classes due to concerns over reduced turnout for 2WD buggy, and modern 1/10th scale RC tracks are a bit narrow for them. And the SCT guys don't like them because you can't get away with contact with them like you can with an SCT. But they've built up enough of a following that I don't see them dying off again unless "the next big thing in 1/10th scale off-road" causes another temporary death of the class, like when SCTs came around.

As much as I love watching pros race, I hate that it’s almost always a 2-3 car race

You can blame that on the super-high traction conditions of modern 1/10th scale tracks. On tracks like this these trucks don't spin out on a bad mistake, they traction roll, but they're less likely to do so in the first place. That means there's less of a risk for the leader to push their car harder so they can build up and maintain a bigger lead, and that anyone further back in the pack is going to have a harder time catching up as the margin between "faster than the leader" and "too fast, now you're on your lid waiting for a marshal and your race is basically over" is a lot smaller. 1/8th scale racing tends to be a lot closer, as the lower-traction environment of dirt makes that margin a lot larger and the punishment for overdriving is more often either understeering into the track barrier, which you can recover from more easily, or spinning out, which you can recover from more easily.

I really hate the naturally good aspect of rc racing… Come on kids where are you…? As a kid my family never had the money to do such a sport… So I get it…
