HPO! Hello again. I’ll be honest with you, when I decided to level my Colorado Crew Cab, knowing the best way to do so, especially if you are required to use a spring compression tool and all that entails, I just ended up spending what came out to an extra $500, for the replacement Coil-Overs, by Fox, that gets you the extra hight with a longer strut assembly, that also gives an extra amount of controlled suspension travel, along with a lift, plus the advantage of a superior dampener and spring. But I never seen the cool hack to the fender trim/mount, that creates more clearance for tires! Too bad I already bought the 32” tires! Next I’ll trim the piece and get at least 33’s! Even after doing all I have I’m very pleased I spent overall less than a stock Z71 would have cost me! On a fantastic truck, I feel is the best driving truck dynamically around. That gets decent mileage!

I am not super mechanical when it comes to trucks and cars, I'm curious about somethings other guys who have lifted or leveled their Colorado only to have issues later with CV boots tearing and I think it was swing arms wearing out? Great job on the channel! I have used your install videos several times for ideas. Two quick questions. 1. Have you done a door sill protector install and if so which item did you use? I've seen ones with grit and clear ones. 2. I assume since no Tonneau cover you probably haven't filled the holes in the bed. I'm putting on a Tonneau cover and not wanting all of the dust that comes up from the ground in to the bed. I realize the holes are for drainage, but my 2019 zr2 has spray on bedliner. Not sure if I should leave a few open or not. First truck for me, have owned keeps for 15 years.

@@HorsePowerObsessed Thanks, I didn't get vibration, it was an issue with the electronic power steering rack not playing nice with the new width I guess, basically felt like the wheel wanted to oscillate a bit back and forth when just starting to make a turn, once deeper into the turn it would go away.

So isn't the reason trucks have a lower front stance is for when you throw a thousand pounds in the bed? Also in many cases fuel economy and suspension geometry will suffer when doing this. IMO, the only reason to do this is for looks being it makes a truck less capable. But at least you went with rough country. They are a reputable company and probably allot better then some of the cheaper options.
@HorsePowerObsessed

It's mostly for looks but it does help increase ground clearance in the front as well.
@forcrz6
@forcrz6 3 жыл бұрын
Adding that leveling kit causes so many issue. 1 the rear is meant to be higher so when you actually use the bed for hauling or towing the front end is then leveled. Now you will look like you put hydraulics on the front of the truck or your air ride in the back is broken. Lets also not mention that now you have throwen off your headlight adjustment and are blinding people down the road. A leveling kit should only be used if you are putting more weight on the font end causing it to dip down even more like steel bumpers and winches. To add it on the front of a stock truck like this is just dumb since you will now cause issues if you tow or actually use the bed. to haul
@HorsePowerObsessed
@HorsePowerObsessed 3 жыл бұрын
I talked about adjusting the headlights down (which I did) so that isn't an issue. I've towed with the truck a few times and it barely squats, hardly noticeable. I wouldn't worry too much about it. It has caused zero issues for me.
