Been thinking about this video. The part that has stuck is how you polished the copper pipe used as a spacer. Loved that!!

Thanks Daniel. Sometimes it's the little touches that make a big difference. Take care, .....Gord

Nice idea Gord. I got the Beall Buff about a year ago, but got the head stock attachment for one wheel at a time, glad I did as it gives me the room for bigger bowls. Mind you, as always, you come up with a superb solution :) Take care Mike

Thanks Mike! I think the single Buff would be a lot more convenient most of the time. Of course, I didn't know that until I got the 3 wheel model. Oh well!!! Be well, .....Gord

Hi Gord! Thank you my friend for sharing this, it certainly makes sense to do it for larger bowls, I guess I will try it next time I work on one that I need to buff! Cheers! Daniel

Gord I think you do great work I just wish you would briefly mention someone else that might have done something similar recently. Perhaps you don't watch Miguel Sanchez but he just uploaded the same subject with different results. Love the twin effect and wish I knew how to do that for my intro LOL. Have a great day.

I assure you, Al, if I had known Miguel had done the same thing I would have said so. Actually, I probably wouldn't have done it. It's getting very difficult to come up with something original; there always seems to be a video by someone else doing whatever I come up with. I meant no disrespect to Miguel. Take care, .....Gord

Gord and I apologize or my blunt comment. An easy fix to that is simply saying "this is my method" and it leaves all others open. just my 2 cents worth

A great solution, Al. I will try to keep that in mind. Thanks!

I also have a thee and one and have occasionally had similar problems with larger pieces. So, Gord, are you taking it off the lathe and changing each wheel as you get to the other two?
@GordonRock19 жыл бұрын
Yes, Mike, it's a bit of a pain but whatever it takes to do the job. Much cheaper than buying two more of the shafts!! I've got more time than money! Take care, .....Gord

Gord Rock I have thought about trying to convert mine to the spindle adapter that mounts on the lathe with a MT2 adapter and draw bar but realize that the 3/4" holes in my 3-1 buffs would need to be converted to have a bolt to fit my adapter and it always seemed too much trouble. I turn a lot of smaller items like boxes and ornaments and such that the 2-1 is perfect for.

Great idea, Gordon! However, I'm really interested in how you manage to get yourself into your videos twice at the same. You don't have a split personality, do you?
@GordonRock19 жыл бұрын
LOL!!! No, Rick, although some people might think that would explain a lot! Just a bit of video editing trickery. I use Adobe Premiere Pro and if you do a search on KZbin for cloning in PPro you will find a number of videos showing how to do it. If you try it I will warn you that it takes a verrrry long time to do a decent job!! Good luck with it! .....Gord
