I don't have any modding plans at the present, but it is fascinating to watch and learn how to do it from your videos. You explain things so well in all your videos. Thanks!

Ah, thank you! I love modifying dolls but it can be pretty time consuming... so I don't do it too often.

Thank you so much! I'm modding my new Lillycat Ombre's sleepy eyes to more open ones, and this is so helpful

I find these so interesting. I'm not brave enough to try it. But its fun to watch

It intimidated me a lot when I did my first mod. I started with Rune, so I was cutting into a $700 doll and limited-edition parts I couldn't easily replace. But after that, everything else is less intimidating :)

Do I need a respirator for mods? Can I do them outside?
@LomisPlayground6 жыл бұрын
Yes, always. I often work outside so that I don't have to clean up the dust in my work space, but even if you are outdoors, you're exposing yourself to the dust and fumes, and that's definitely not stuff you want in your lungs. A good respirator is about $30 at most hardware stores here but it will last for many projects, and refill cartridges aren't very expensive. It's never worth risking your health for projects. Plus, a respirator is much, much cheaper than a doctor's visit. :)

Hello! I’m rally late to this video, but I have a dollzone ivana, one of the 20cm dolls and I would like to modify her nose a little bit. (Sand down the nose bridge a bit.) Is it safe to modify such a small doll? Because the resin layer isn’t as thick as larger dolls. Also, I heard that you need to have safety equipment to sand resin, as the dust is toxic. Not sure if you mentioned it in the video, but what equipment should I get for safety? Thanks.
@LomisPlayground4 жыл бұрын
You are correct that the resin dust is toxic--you may want nitrile gloves, but otherwise, the only thing you really need for protection is a good respirator that is rated at OV/P95 or higher. I have a full list of customization tools I use on my website here: www.ithilear.com/doll-customization-supply-master-list.html As for sanding a tiny doll, it shouldn't be a problem! Generally when the faces are cast, they're solid pieces with a thick front so there is space for the eye wells and such. It would be extremely unusual to find a doll that has a fully hollow face. So, you should be fine! :)

Oh how cool! I had not seen this doll in years so it was neat to come across one in person :) You'll have to show me when you're finished with your doll.

Are you using any masks for this to avoid the toxic dust?
@LomisPlayground7 жыл бұрын
Yep, I wear a NIOSH-approved OV/P95 respirator for all my modifications and painting projects. I normally link to the one I use in my video descriptions, but I lost the link somehow ^^;;
