Evening. I was through in your part of the world this afternoon to see my sons new flat. I had forgotten you had a grey RS as well. Looking forward to the road test as I have a soft spot for fast Fords having been over 130mph 5 times in my life and 3 were Fords. Escort 1.8Si (140), Escort Cosworth (150) Ford Capri 3.0L (130) a motorbike (140) and an MG ZS180 (140). The Capri and motorbike were passenger rides and also the Cosworth after a test drive at 80mph. Good memories.

@@DaveRebuilds I got offered that one to buy 3 months after driving it but had recently bought a Freelander so had to turn it down, that and the fact I regularly drove from Campbeltown to Aberdeen to see my son then went to live on Isle of Lewis the miles would have mounted up on it. It would have been fun but fuel up there was 15p a litre more than the mainland. Mind you the ZS180 did 5 miles to the litre so probably no difference to the Cossie. Would have to be an Escort for me but the Sierra was some car also. My Dad had the 1st Escort in the North East of Scotland JAV 479F and I sometimes thought of getting another Escort and taking him for a drive. I guess I left it too late.

@@DaveRebuilds One hell of a drive, 5 and a half hours on a good day. That's a good idea but my car rebuilding skills are limited to a Lego model of the new Defender and that ended with some spare bits and a bent chassis. I think there is a company in Wales that builds replica mark 1 and 2's but my pockets are not deep enough.

Great Video, I have Ultima 3+ on my Car and really can't fault it but never checked the power made and never felt the need to seems to feel good and fun to drive on the road. But iv heard quality reviews about Sabre so tempted to give them a go can always go back to the Imap if didn't like it :).

Cool, thanks for the info dude! Yeah someone else mentioned the sabre map. Plan is to put the next map on and see how it goes and if it’s not enough I’ll possibly buy the sabre map, not overly keen on spending another £500 tho lol. What mods do you have to run the ultima 3+?

​@@DaveRebuilds I have their full spec for the 3+ ( intercooler + bigger boost pipes, full exhaust, intake + scoop, sports cat, recirc. I got the work done before 3+ was released so i was on ultima 3 and i didn't rate it at all to be honest. but the difference from 3 to 3+ is massive so would recommend just going to 3+ 100%.. Definitely, the price is the big one, be good to test one I guess if someone in your area has it done to compare them.

We were over on the west coast (based ourselves in Ayr) to start then a night in Edinburgh. That road - I think it's just called Ayr Road - when you come off the motorway is SUBLIME. Even the wife didnt mind me sticking the car in sport mode and hammering it for half an hour after 400 miles of boring motorway! Just rewards I think

@@DaveRebuilds I ran the imap for a few months, no linearity to it whatsoever, awful reviews on the mk3 Rs Facebook page, evil gt did a video on what actual figures / awful torque curve the dream science maps were making, they were threatened with legal action, they took the video down, can’t recommend motorsport developments highly enough, I’m now running a sabre custom tune, but they would be a fair run from where you are based! ..but honestly ditch the imap
