I think the deeper scratches can be done with a filler first then with the colour and after that it's not even visible

First off, thank you for taking the time to post this video. Have you had the opportunity to try DIY detail's gold standard polish? The reason I ask is because according to them it's an "All in one" like this turtle wax product. I'm just up in the air on deciding which one I should try. Thanks buddy

Unfortunately I haven’t tried that polish so can’t comment on it, but I do know the 1&done is good, I’ve used it a lot 👍🏻 It will depend on how well known DIY details products are, as if they developed it themselves, might be really good, but if they just buy a “white label” polish and rebrand it, it will probably be rubbish

Honestly, can’t remember as it’s been a while since I last used it. But pretty sure I’d have remembered if it stank lol. Would also be very unlike meguiars to make a bad smelling product for interiors 👍🏻

It really depends tbh, I’ve had it last a month or so in warmer/dryer conditions and a week in torrential Scottish rain lol. Most people have been saying 1-2 weeks on average tho. Tyre gel might be a good idea, or boot polish. I watched a video of someone using a heat gun to bring the oils out from deeper in the trim but haven’t tried it myself as yet

lol it really is! I haven’t actually used the interior protectant before, but if you are looking for something for interior trim, I’d recommend turtle wax hybrid solutions inside job, they sent me a bottle to test a year or so ago and it’s great, so much so I’ve bought several bottles since 👍🏻

If your not looking for the shine after, I typically tend to apply the product with a cloth and then use a dry clean cloth after to buff the shine away, as I hate a shiny interior as well! May try and make a video on it when I get some free time 👍🏻

This white wax does NOT restore black trim it only minor cleans oxidation which can be done with many household cleaners at very low cost so save yourselves lots of money & leave it on the shop shelves, my results found it expensive rubbish

Does not fix scratches. Watched other KZbin videos, TW 1 and Done, is not all that unable to do much on scratches. I am shocked Dave said the vehicle "Mercedes" was already clay bar. I do like the shine. Then the Mercedes age is unknown and somewhere was neglected, maybe he'll do paint correction or a minor repaint job to rid of some of those nasty scratches.

It depends on what you mean by a scratch? It’s a light compound so won’t remove heavy scratches, but does a superb job of light scratches and swirls. I did another video fully detailing the Mercedes, so all the info will be in that video 👍🏻

@@thirteenthgrade508 yeah that’s exactly what I found as well. U have to let it dry (or use a hair dryer) so it’s a lot more solid before trying to remove the excess! Definitely not like in the advert lol

Dave, sorry to bother you again. I've already used three different products to try to remove the scratch: SONAX XTREME BrilliantShine Detailer, Maddox Detail - Quick Detailer and another product that a guy from the garage has used. None of the three managed to remove the scratch (which is very superficial). On the contrary, you can see a white layer near the scratch. I think it is too much cleaning product. Don't you think it would be better to apply a degreaser to remove excess product and only then use the all purpose cleaner? Or the all purpose cleaner can remove excess product and only then apply the rubber. Thanks once more.

Hi, no need to apologise, I love trying to help! Are you trying to remove a scratch in plastic or in paint? Or are you trying to remove wax/polish residue? If it’s polish residue on paint, use an isopropyl alcohol (IPA) If it’s polish residue on plastic, then I’d use an all purpose cleaner, rinse with water and then try an eraser If it’s a scratch on paint, you need to use a compound unless the scratch is deep, in which case it may need a touch up paint pen. If there is a white layer around the area then yes, it sounds like too much cleaner has been applied and may have stained the plastic. 👍🏻

@@Diesprecher if it’s painted plastic then I’d recommend a compound dude, something like turtle wax one&done compound should remove a scratch on painted plastics no bother at all! I did a video on using it a while ago (think it was an old Mercedes I used it on. If it’s non painted plastic then I’m not 100% sure how to remove a scratch as a compound would only make it worse

Hi, thank you, I appreciate that! I typically use meguiars all purpose cleaner and dilute it depending on what I’m cleaning. For example, car interior plastics tend to get 5:1 with water, and softer materials (leather or trim) I dilute down to 10:1 so it’s not as harsh 👍🏻 It’s really good stuff!

Yeah I’ve found I get slightly better luck when applying with a brush rather than a cloth if that helps at all? But it’s def not a permanent fix for greyed plastics! A ceramic trim coating would be better (or just respray them black lol)

Hello. Can you still reuse the Microfiber towel you used for TW Ceramic Wet Wax? I have seen a lot of vids stating not to reuse towels that had Ceramic in it.

Hi, to be honest I’m not sure with this particular product as it only has a small % of ceramic. I know that when using a true ceramic coat, you need to dispose of the towels used to apply/buff once used as they go solid, but haven’t tried it with this product! Sorry, I know that’s not very helpful but just being honest😃

Hi, it should work with any metallic colour, it really depends on how deep the scratch is. As a rule of thumb, if you can feel the edge of the scratch with your finger nail, it will need more than just a compound to fix it

@@DaveRebuilds thanks for the quick reply. The panels are coloured black plastic and I'm struggling to achieve a decent finish as they are full of swirls. Nothing I've tried so far seems to improve them. I may end up just flatting them down and clear coating them.
