This is exactly what I was looking for! A clear explanation on how the voltage divider works! This is a very well made video. Keep up the good work!

I got this soldered and tested last night, I am now waiting for the ARM (Ardupilot) board to drop into my postbox, the motors and esc's are mounted and now the transmitter is "ready" once again thanks Joop :)

Hi Joop, I am watching your videos since long, and this one is the 100% my problem too, same radio and same Ardupilot, I used the dial option to switch the flight modes but had to change the frequencies on radios, I am not a electronics expert like you but struggling with this radio and flysky 8 channel radio. Keep it up. :)

For measuring the battery voltage in those devices why is such a low resistance is used for measurement? after all as long and that device is Working in this config it takes about 0.2mA which is quite some for such a small operation on a battery application.

Very informative, nice job. Who do you keep the different combinations of switches straight? It appeared to me (?) the left (next to antenna) 3-way toggle would have to be in a particular position so that the other switch would have 3 different positions?
@Joop_Brokking7 жыл бұрын
The top switch is a fail safe switch that will bring the quadcopter home regardless the position of the flight mode switch. So it needs to work Independent.

Instead of changing the voltage readout with a pot, turn the transmitter on while holding both sticks in the bottom right and this will allow you to set a voltage offset
@Joop_Brokking6 жыл бұрын
This will work on the I6 but does not work on the T6.

I modded mine by simply replacing that pot with a 3 position switch and a resistor divider. Works great for selecting flight mode! (level, GPS poshold, RTH)

Dear Joop, What should I do if I use the Flysky Fs-i6S? What if I use the Flysky Fs-i6?

Thanks Joop for all the good stuff you put out :) I am just starting RC and am going down the ArduPilot road and wondered about these extra channels, I have a question... there are two switches on the drawing, (3.29secs), one of the switches is a "on,off,on" at least that is what I have ordered, the other switch and here is my question, is the switch a "on,on" switch different than that which is already in the FS-T6 or do I need to order that one as well. regards and kudos
@Joop_Brokking7 жыл бұрын
You only need to order the 3-position switch (on-off-on). The 2-position switch is already available in the transmitter.

Hoi Joop! hoe heb jij dit aangepakt met import heffingen? of heb je gewoon op goed geluk besteld? bedankt voor de video!
@Joop_Brokking7 жыл бұрын

HI Joop. Why are you using the ArduPilot flight controller and not your own home-made one?
@Joop_Brokking7 жыл бұрын
I just want to test it out to see how it flies. Currently I don't have enough time to work on my own flight controller. So I tried a "ready to fly" controller.

nice mod it already has a voltage adjustment tho. i have one mystery where all my batteries read 1.39v but altogether i only get 9.7v it should be 11.12v... its like one of the batteries isn't being detected by my meter. the transmitter says 11.1 though how about a lipo battery mod?

@@murphysarmy25 The Video is a little confusing, but yes the brown is the analog out from the sweeper, if you follow my diagram and the colours, Red 5v+, Black earth, green from the 2 1k.5 to pin 1 on the 3position, blue from 1k.5/3k.3 to pin 2 on the 3 position and to pin 3 on the 2 position.

Joop Brokking Can't wait for these tutorials!!! Thanks to you i have already managed to make a very nice tilt compensated compass using your 6050 imu tutorial and the heading calculation pdf document you provided us! So for these GPS functions like, position hold or return to home, barometer altitude data is not required? (what about a barometer altitude hold tutorial?) I had the impression that a specific safety altitude (set by the user) must be maintained to avoid colisions if there is no sonar sensors under the multicopter. I also know that altitude data can be provided by the GPS receiver but what about accuracy?

The 3 position switch has just arrived, I have the resistors already from another project and now I am starting this mod :) refer to drawing again at 3.29 seconds:- I am able to solder/connect the switches and the resistors but I am confused about the 3 connections marked GND,+3v3v,analogue out. I notice there are three wires on the potentiometer, red brown white can I presume that these are the GND,+3v3v,analogue out, if so which is which, I can make an educated guess that the brown wire being the sweep on the pot is the analogue out? if this is true I can measure out the other two, but I dont wanna let the smoke out of my Transmitter, regards
@Joop_Brokking7 жыл бұрын
The center connection is the analog input to the microcontroller. The outer two are the +3.3V and GND. Use a multimeter to check the polarity.

uhm, isn't there an alternative firmware available that brings all those features in software? i seem to remember that you can even transmitt on more than 6 channels with said firmware, but i don't own one of those transmitters myself so i am not sure...

Using alternative firmware that is made by some enthusiast is not something that I will recommend on my channel. That is why I used the alternative resistor method. But if you remember the link to the firmware I definitely will have a look.
