I just discovered you a few weeks ago through Leah Forster & then Freda Vizel. I love you humor and hearing about your husband Leo. Thank you for mentioning Sefaria - I just uploaded it. I’m a Reform Jew who was raised in a progressive secular home who works as an interfaith chaplain. Even though I’ve studied the religions of the world, it’s my graduate clinical social work and public health training that supports me in this role as opposed to being a Biblical scholar. As a 72 year old, reaching for an app hasn’t been my natural go to in the past. Instead I’ve kept cheat notes of prayers in my pocket. What’s interesting about my interfaith work is that when people of different faiths hear I’m Jewish they ask for me to recite a Hebrew prayer. The first time this happened 25 years ago I wasn’t prepared with cheat notes and the only prayer I knew from memory was the Shabbat Candle Lighting Prayer. I solemnly recited it and it perked up the Christian patient and his family.

Please tell Periel to get an environmental specialist to oversee the removal of the oil tank. The oil can seep underground and send toxic fumes into the house.
