This is one of the few synth channels on YT that is actually worth watching. BR makes the f*ing sounds you want these machines to make!

i like your demos alot, pretty concise not trying to explain everything, supposing we already know most concepts, its very relaxing to watch. sounds like a cool machine, will go on my list to try out.

Yes, this DR-2 is one of the most playable synthdrummachine, a real toy with which I love to do live impro (it's build for that), we feel like Jeff Mills on his TR... with less talent :p I'm preparing a french review on my channel very soon ;) Thanks for your content and long life to your channel Joey !

Reckon you can record knob movements but perhaps that came along in an update since you made this vid.

Believe your wish was granted & motion record is now possible 😃

Looks great user interface but until they start popping up on eBay, though I reckon I could be happy with a tr8s and a grands worth of effects pedals instead!

Time to do a DR-2 OS007 Review!

Thanks for your video! It really gets me more into RD2. But I have a qoestion. As you tweak the filter (9:15-9:30) I hear some noise. Is it just some mistake of video edit, or is the Modor really doing it? Thanks

Does anyone know if the beat starts exactly when the play button is touched? The youtube videos seem to reveal a "lag". If this is true it would be a dealbreaker as I want it to engage like my keyboards, which is immediate

been looking at this thing since it came out. very pricey. The lack up updates to the OS and lack of new models being introduced by the manufacturer was a big obstacle to getting one. This makes me reconsider.

For me, the hold up is it feels like a volca drum and a distortion pedel. ~$300 vs $2100. Work flow dosnt seem to be that much better. Seems like just simply size and outputs are the main advantages
@almostghosts2 жыл бұрын
@@petert7807 they are both digital and both drum machines. That’s where the similarities end. They sound nothing alike. The interface is completely different. There is no distortion pedal in the world that is going to make a volca drum sound like this machine. You should probably invest in better headphones/ monitors/ hearing aids.

@@petert7807 I have both a Volca Drum and a Modor DR-2. The Volca Drum sounds fantastic but lacks punch, which the DR-2 has in spades. Plus the tilt filter and distortion do help bring everything to life that bit more. Both great devices, though I would love a Volca Drum in a box the size of the DR-2 'cos those tiny knobs are BS.
@petert78072 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I agree there needs to be a full size volca drum, maybe a Electribe ER-2? Maybe the Drumlogue? I have been meaning to do a dr-2 vs volca drum video. Have been busy. I can say that a filter would go a long way with the volca drum, Especially if you use the entire machine for a single voice sound design. Then the resonator allows alot of shaping. The envalopes also leave a bit to be desired. By punch im sure you mean a hard dynamic attack? I wonder if a distortion pedal into a noise gate could help 🤔. I need to explore and record.
