This is actually a compliment to ConcernedApe in his coding of Stardew Valley itself. See, its only possible to be able to add similar things in mods, and not conflict, if what is being modded, is coded right, this is the main reason for things like smapi that act as a inbetween for the mods and the vanill.

If anyone's wondering why the anime portraits doesn't work for Oliva, the Seasonal Outfits overwrites it, you can delete the portraits folder in the Season Outfits Mod to get the anime portraits and keep the sprites outfits. : )

do you know why my sophia anime portrait isnt working? I tried only replacing the makeup png and that didnt do anything but if i delete the original png and the makeup then sophia has no portrait and my pause/inventory menu wont open

A mod I have fallen in love with is Dynamic Reflections mod, it allows water to have reflections of NPCs, animals and the PC among a few other fun adds. Add in the Visible Fish mod and walking by the water looks so different and even relaxing.

@@Not.Spooky Ridgeside's creator has said that seasonal outfits is currently not a priority unfortunately. Fortunately, someone has recently released a seasonal outfits pack for Alissa, so I'm hoping that they're working on more characters!

I would try the Susan Marriage mod but here's 2 unfortunate coincidences for me personally: 1. Susan is the name for my beloved late grandma. 2. Weirdly enough, Susan in-game kinda looks like my grandma when she was in her late 40s. So yeah, me trying to marry Susan in-game would just make me feel confused lol, she is a fantastic NPC tho ngl (Kegs only costing 20 Wood because of her is a godsent)

Pedantic Alert: I love SVE, but your stat of 4 million downloads is a bit misleading. The unique downloads in Nexus is 1 million. Every time there's an update, you have to download it, and I know that I've done that a least a dozen times so far. A PC games article from 2021 states that 15 million copies of Stardew Valley have been sold since 2016. Also, I love the seasonal outfits mod. My favorite are all the costumes for Spirits Eve. Olivia's is genius.

Why install anime portraits when you can instead install 1oxnes and talkohlooeys' Seasonal Portraits which honestly looks the closest like Harvest Moon that these mods have gotten. (The ones that are actually "inspired" by HM really don't look anything like it... At least not the good ones.) They also work with SVE and someone made an addon for Mister Ginger as well.

8:55 in my mods folder, all of the characters portraits are in assets, with no special folders for each one, i also put sophia's new portrait in assets but it doesn't changes in the game, what can i do?

If you're trying to do the seasonal outfits mod just drag and drop it in the mods folder like any other mod, but if you are trying to do the anime portrait mod it's a little more complicated. Make sure you don't have the seasonal outfit mod installed if you're trying to do the anime mod. Drag the folder with all the pngs to the portraits folder on Stardew Valley (not expanded) and reset your game if you're doing this with it open. (P.S there are 2 main folders, put the "Portrait Anime Mods Ohodavi" in the mods folder and the other in the portraits folder). As for Sophia I've also had some trouble but just keep messing with it and resetting your game.

When you open the game through Smapi, you’ll notice a dialogue box opens before the game itself opens. If you tab to that box you can see which mods loaded, and which had errors. Red text means a mod wasn’t loaded.

I actually really dislike most of the Portrait mods I don’t know what it is but for me they just miss the mark heck I can extend this to stuff like Expanded and Rideside, they just don’t work for me it’s a art style thing or maybe it’s a colour palette thing but whatever it is they just put me off of most of the new characters I thing some of them also look to real well too close to real considering you know pixel art.
