I have a number of their wood modules and the build quality is solid. I actually love the pots and they feel good.

Hey Chris, I like the pots too.

Strange that your video starts by almost featuring the GrandPa, which I see is one of the main sound sources in the opening piece. Was there a reason you didn't mention it again, and maybe you have a few thoughts on it? Thanks in advance.

I've ignored this company because i really hated the wooded panels, i find they look silly, are too deep for regular screws and flimsy. But i bought a knit rider a while ago because it was a cheap trigger sequencer for what it could do and now discovering-realizing pretty much all of their modules are amazing and now that they have aluminum panels available i'm planning on adding 3 more bastl modules in my main case. The trinity looks amazing after watching this video too.

Hi. Great vid as always. Just consider cinnamon as a 2nd filter to my little set up (use wasp and love it). But i am divided between ripples or cinnamon now (only have 8hp)....any advice? If you have to choose?

It looks flimsy ... does it feel like the wood might break easily? Or is it actually fine?
@zerozeroisland7 жыл бұрын
They actually feel really solid, the wood isn't a thin slice, it's pretty thick. Actually i find i need longer screws to mount these because the wood panel is thicker than the average aluminum plate. They do make aluminum panel versions of most of their modules now, just in case wood isn't your thing ;)

I abuse my bastl modules quite a bit and they're still going strong. The knobs do feel like they might fall off but they haven't... yet... EDIT: gave them a tweak, knobs are still pretty strong actually
@DivKid7 жыл бұрын
As others have replied they feel solid. The wood panels are another mm or two thicker than the standard aluminium panel so they're sturdy.

It's oak, which Bastl says is strong, and I believe that. Yes, the knobs can kinda feel like they might fall off, and it's weird, but I don't think it's a real problem.

looks cool and sounds great but feels like the pots are gonna fall off

from experience or some wobble in the video? I've been using these a lot for a good while before the video and after and they're still going strong.

The pcbs seem attached by screws rather than the pots screwing directly into the panel. They do look wobbly, but I'm sure they won't fall off in normal use. The reason for doing this is probably because the wooden panels are thicker than the standard 2mm aluminium, which would mean the pots can't screw on directly. One way around this is to get the aluminium versions and use pots with panel screws.

finally a rundown of these! I've not been able to nail down the workflow of the trinity but you made it so easy! imagine there's six outs on that little beast with individual control. I bought mine used with the expander... which I'll need to wrap my ahead around separately, not even using the inputs on trinity yet. I guess the expander resets (and clock?) in are useful. also do you know if the www.muffwiggler.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=137280&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=125 is also a fix for the stepping that people are bugging about? pictures of mod in thread. I don't care personally I think it sounds lovely.

Ace. I was just looking at some kits from them and wondering how they were.

Hey Sean, great modules. I haven't tried the kits but not heard anything against them and they're priced great. I'd give it a go.

The Cinnamon kit was perfect. Well documented and pleasant to build. Even came with some nice solder. Two thumbs up.

Knobs. They are wobbling.
@DivKid7 жыл бұрын
don't feel any "wobblier" than much bigger brands. Focussed in tight camera shots are gonna show any movement. Try them if you can before judging.
@mpingo917 жыл бұрын
I believe you. I just thought that maybe it's not the potentiometer is wobbling, but the knob alone. Probably the knob's "collar" is simply kind of soft. Am I right?

Ill never buy a module where there is slop in the knobs like that - regardless of sound.

Объясните мне хоть кто нибудь Ну нахрена это все нужно????провода крутилки и все остальное.Зачем заморачиваться с этим если есть виртуальные синты где накрутишь любой нужный тебе звук?
