Serious electronic music is not blip-blop and bzzzz. Electronic music has Intro,main theme,outro and a story to tell.....And you did,all that! Bravo! Serious guy!

Slow and nice build-up of the arrangement. The bellsound is so organic, you can envision like you're tapping on warbling water glasses.

I do leave it on in the background sometimes, when there's a tinkly little tune like this. It's like DIY muzak!😁😄

i didn't know you had MATHS....OMG Patrick,,,,i have been seeing a lot of Non-Eurorack Videos from you past few months that i totally forgot you was a Eurorack Gear Head like the rest of us....Now this is music to my ears...i love the Starting off very simple approach and just modulating it from there...Joshua is going to love this one.....Probably Video of the year 2023 for both of us....U there Joshua? U concur?

Thank you so much, Reggie! I was very pleased when I discovered this tune lurking in the modular synth. It's such a joy to work up a little jam and then share it with people who appreciate it. Yes, Maths is an essential component. It has so many different functions I almost forget to use them all.

I really like the minimalistic approach, ‘less is more’, but appreciate there is more going on there than meets the ear. Halfway through the tune reminded me of your windup music box Patrick. The warbly bell like tone is great. The melody is still going round my head as I’m writing this : )

I'm so pleased to hear you liked it! I'm really attracted to those little bell-like tones. There's something very calming for me in the complex rhythms and ringing reverb. Thank you very much for listening.

As someone else noted below, this sounds like an electronic version of the acoustic experiments you usually do! it has the same kind of wonderful whimsical quality to it!

Thank you for that feedback! I really hadn't realized how particular my tastes are until I started posting these improvs. It's especially interesting to compare the limited melodies that I program into a sequencer to the little songs that I try to compose for the music box. Similar restrictions.

First of all, it's awesome to see someone perform a live improv on modular synth. One thing I like about your music is that it seems to embody the spirit of "lightness" that Italo Calvino writes about in his final book Six Memos for the Next Millennium. I think it's the first chapter I'm referring to. But anyway, it's the spirit of inquisitiveness and experimentation without fear that energizes me when I hear your work.

Hi Karl! This is such a nice reflection. I was quite pleased with this patch and it was a little nerve racking to perform it all in one take. I'm definitely going to pick up the book you mentioned.

Somebody already said "whimsical" ... I'll add "charming." I spy with my little eye, a Rings and a Plaits. How long have you had those? And there's a Moog skiff with a deck saver lid on it sitting there. Are you holding out on us, man? Fun listening, and this reminds me I have my own table full of synthesizer which I should spend more time with.

Thanks so much Joshua!! Ah you spotted my little secret. It's not Moog but Behringer Model D! I have taken it out to play with it but I don't think the camera has been on. It's a strange little beast but when I get the settings right, it sounds great. And yes, I really love Rings and Plaits. I bought them from @girlinagale last year and they have made a couple appearances I think. It's taken a little while to understand how to use them best but those plucks, ticks and gongs are irresistable. I have seen Plaits in one of your smaller cases - Do you have Rings?
@JoshuaKennedy321
@JoshuaKennedy321 10 ай бұрын
@@pbartmess My Rings is an unofficial clone with a black panel, lurking at the top right corner of my rack. I use it more than any other VCO. If I had to get rid of modules (which maybe I should consider doing) Rings would be the last to go.
