Great job ! Nilesh ji you have started teaching भारतीय calendar with 3D pictures to the curious students . Thank you very much ! I wish our Govt. agencies also realise to include भारतीय calendar in the school curriculum (school).

Nileshji, if I may request you, could you please also use the name, the traditional shabdas used for technical words like siderial, tropical etc in local Indian languages like Marathi or Sanskrit ?

Nilesh ji, Dhanyawad for having this course and this beautiful representation! Given that all planets in our solar system have their own differently inclined orbits around the sun, it is difficult to visualize that these planets are in same plane as the Elliptic. Do you have an animation/picture to show that?

Great. Any particular reason for choosing New moon day( not full moon day) as beginning or just convention.

Hello Sir can you differentiate between Solar Eclipse and अमावस्या ? Both have similar coordination of sun, moon and earth.

Hello Nilesh sir First of all, many thanks for providing such a fundamental course on this topic. Very well explained and I'm comfortablly following. I really appreciate. Just one point to check. If possible , would you share the software used for the demo ? I think , once done hands-on over it, it would help concreting the concepts. Thanks Amey Kulkarni

Nileshji, when we say Nakshatra Ashwini, how do we ensure that the star Ashwini we can point to in the sky is the same as that our forefathers pointed to. Is there some description of the star in some classical book. If so where is it. I am NOT comfortable with Wikipedia translation into Alpha Arietis.

This is a Prakaran course and not Aakar course. The information must be taken as is and it is delivered in this fashion for a specific reason. The expectation is that someone asking questions such as yours above (valid question) will find the answers on his/her own after taking this course or may take advanced courses in astronomy with me (assuming I offer additional ones on astronomy) or elsewhere.

Nilesh ji - First fantastic series of lectures and incredible demo videos. Really makes it easy to understand. One question - you say the Vernal Equinox marked the first day of the Indian calendar. However the Marathi calendar begins [almost today], April 2nd on the new moon of the Chaitra. What am I missing? Thank you again.

What do you make of mention in Mahabharata (as negotiations were going on before ultimate war on Kuruxetra) about eclipse on 13th day of the month that never happened before? How long that cycle is that, that kind of eclipse on that particular day and time never happened in 4 billion years of existence of earth, moon and sun together? I hope that you would read this comment and respond.
