just a point positive feedback does not count as homeostasis because it doesn't keep internal envirmonets constant, this is a small error but a key concept which is tested in exams

I thought so too! Because doesn’t the high ion concentration in that interstitial space between the collecting duct and ascending limb cause water to move out of the collecting duct via osmosis so they need to be next to each other

I have type 1 diabetes so my family has kept up to date with research for treatments for type 1. Sadly stem cell use as a treatment for type 1 diabetes has already been tried and it only worked temporarily due to type 1 being an autoimmune condition the new cells were attacked and destroyed in the same way the original beta cells were. Success was only seen for type 2 patients as their condition was not caused by an autoimmune disease. Should I still write that it's a potential treatment for type 1 even though I know that it isn't effective? I'm stressing now lol.

positive feedback loops are not part of part of homeostasis because they don’t involve keeping the body temperature constant
@millybalchin5914
@millybalchin5914 10 ай бұрын
Homeostasis isn’t just about body temperature, it’s about maintaining a constant (and optimal) internal environment. That can mean ion concentration, temperature etc
@viridia1526
@viridia1526 10 ай бұрын
@@millybalchin5914homeostasis remains a constant internal environment. There are 2 types of feedback: negative = feedback that minimises changes in the body to keep equilibrium despite small fluctuations. And positive = amplify a response like female lactation. Homeostasis involves negative feedback, but positive amplifies a response and doesn’t maintain a constant environment for the body, so i doubt its a part of keeping homeostasis.

just on neuronal communication having a bit of trouble regarding your understanding of neurone structures. I have always learnt the axon carries the impulse away fro the cell body however you seem to believe otherwise. many students are relying on you as a source of accurate information, do better.
